Do you make a good profit off the honey or just enough to pay for itself? Worst part of beekeeping? Best part? What do you charge?

Do you have a favorite bee? What's his/her name?

My Grandpa kept bees. Something about the smell of fresh honey and the smoke from the smoker is awesome.

I've always wanted to keep bees. I've read a lot, but any general tips or personal experiences would be helpful.

That moment when you want to do a QA in another post but a tiny octopus answers all the questions.

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

are you going to get those new bee hives that dont interrupt the bees so they can just chill and you just pour the good stuff out of a tap?

How do I get bees and wasps to fuck off and not kill me?

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Bees aggress toward dark colors, hair, and carbon dioxide (think of what raids hives). Note: Don't ever blow in the entrance of a hive.

Wasps are just evil and will sting you for the fun of it.

aso bees die if they sting so they dont do it for fun all the time... but yea wasps are pure evil...think orcs from elves in LOTR mytho

What are your thoughts on wasps?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Tiny Octopus thinks wasps can just fuck off and die and he's pretty sure every beekeeper everywhere feels the same way.

Not sure if a cream would work for that.

How often do you get stung and do you even feel it anymore? Do you think the bees know you're taking care of them?

When Tiny Octopus kept bees, he only got stung when he was stupid (aka, didn't make sure his gear was on properly or didn't smoke the bees

enough.) Smoke is a warning to bees that the hive is on fire, so they gorge themselves on honey, making them full and less aggressive.)

Is honey bee poop or puke?

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Puke

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tiny Octopus wants you to know it's essentially fermented puke.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

It's the only thing humans eat that's predigested naturally. Sweet.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ekibwurm would like to add that many things we enjoy in everyday life are fermented. so no need to go 'ew' all over
