Fuzzybritches is so tired of this.
Edit: Thanks for the Most Viral everybody.
Be safe. Keep the faith. Look after your friends and neighbors. We will survive this.
Fuck Trump.

Many didn’t vote because of the war in Gaza. Whatever. Go tell the LGBTQ community, and women in red states to take refuge in the blue states. Human rights will be protected. And ignore the naysayers & Russian Internet trolls. Fight back against Project 2025 and religions

I heard that mike drop all the way to Germany
DrewK98
Let's imagine we live in the fantasyland where 80 million people all vote for the same third party candidate. Great, now they're president. With NO senators and NO representatives of their party. Who is going to write the legislation that they want? Who are they going to fill their cabinet with? More outsiders with no connections to the House or Senate?
Tell me, specifically, how a third party president will get ANYTHING AT ALL done. Then maybe I'll listen. Until then get the fuck away from me.
sherlockhooves
Sadly the math still didn't work in Kamala's favor. Even if all the people that voted third party voted for her. She would still be 2.7 mill short of the popular vote, and still would have lost the electoral college. We did all we could as civilians to try and stop this, but facisim won this day. So are we prepared to keep fighting the next level of this movement, or will we sit with our head in our hands in dispare and give up?
x86Daddy
A lot of us who complained about the quality of the D party still voted for their anointed candidate. Our objections stand, and *the actions of the party* are exactly why it lost... not the people pointing out those actions. Cancelling the primary, cozying up to mass murderer Dick Cheney, supporting fracking and fossil fuel expansion, and supporting *fucking genocide* are bad things. Telling us to shut up won't change that. Dem party policy changing on those topics would have won votes.
spacebaIIstheaccount
Yes. Also, 70 million Americans suck. Those are the ones who have put us in this position, where we can't have real, nuanced, difficult but productive conversations about the real life issues we need to address (climate change, wars, racism, transphobia, sexism, etc). So fuck the people who sat this election out, but fuck 1000 times over the massive amount of shitty people that actually WANT THIS
mjkwho
Stop being so angry at people. Be angry at the broken system and the corruption. And then work to tear it down!
q34tw4
Stop trying to play fair with people who dont play fair. You will never ever win that way
NATA5
I’ve met so many people who think it’s either bad or worse like really? You really think voting blue this time is really anything compared to the sweet potato Hitler??
johnnyhandbags
"Progressive" describes an evolution, not a revolution. Anyone who refuses to vote for progress because it is not a revolution deserves neither.
Xenarion
Basically. That's like trying to win a game of tug-of-war in a single step.
algoritham
New Zealand here: Man you guys are so fucked. Doubt Trump will survive the term, given his health. Hope you all are ready for President Vance.

Harris campaigned with Liz Cheney in swing county Dearborn, Mi. Liz Cheney is a notorious warmonger and voted with Trump 92% of the time. This election, Trump went from <20% to 40% of the vote in Dearborn. I voted for Harris, but she fucked up. She didn't win people's votes.
FoamingToad
Well said. Over this side of the pond we just kicked soi-disant "conservatives" to the kerb, but with a depressingly low turnout. We need compulsary voting, with a "N/a" option, if democracy is going to survive. At least make the fence-sitters recognise their cowardice.
Remmon1
You need ranked choice voting and to get rid of the electoral college as well. Of course neither will happen will either of the current ruling parties. Those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable. The only question is how much of their plan the fascists get to implement and how many people they get to murder before the US rises up against them.
pravetz
Tragic. Thank you for writing this

There won't be a man, woman, child, pet, or houseplant left alive in Gaza by the end of January.
varesya
Oh there will be, it'll just be Israeli soldiers and settlers.
jplusc
at least one? I know THREE who would not vote for Kamala including a lesbian who couldn't vote for someone who supported abortion! it's crazy!
sorry guys, i tried.
Nyxaura
My mom told me she didn’t vote because Kamala was two-faced… what? A sister, a closeted trumper (she never came out and said she supported him, but she definitely didn’t support Kamala) didn’t vote because she lives in CA, so it didn’t matter if she voted. She said Kamala talked in circles.. what? Did you even watch any of your guys rallies??

Oh hey I've been thinking about this all day, glad to see someone post it. Unfortunately we won't get SSJ2 Biden.
onecatnokids
i have already seen one of Rump's minions state that Rump will uphold the Constitution and the law. Really? You are that delussional?
varesya
This is the way it works. They're going to claim the Constitution means whatever they want it to mean, even if that's facially and obviously wrong. Because who's going to stop them? They've got a complicit Supreme Court after all.
Xenarion
They aren't. But they bank that people listening are.
bittenicht39
If they already are a minion, do you really have to ask?
sevenfingerman
Hey, @op; stop summarizing and encapsulating how I feel.
dank69
The idea that Democrats weren't doing enough when the GOP controls the House tells you that the person holding that idea doesn't know what the fuck they are talking about.
varesya
It's the same shit from 2014. Obama and the Democrats "weren't doing enough" and "weren't delivering on promises" because the Republicans were blocking everything, so voters stayed home in 2014, leading to record low turnout and a Republican wipeout that took control of the Senate, leading to Republicans being able to stuff the Supreme Court.
fractalsphere
Anyone who didn't vote is morally responsible for contributing to what is coming
wadatahmydamie
Anyone who voted third party is responsible too.
notyoubizness
Sure, but so are the Democrat leaders who failed to understand the limits of the voting electorate. They chose the candidate that the ignorant simple could NOT vote for. And as is now clear... you MUST consider the ignorant and get their vote.

Nope. I'm done blaming the politicians for people not voting. If people can't manage the energy to vote against fascism, then they deserve it.
forelle
Nope, this is on you then. There is a time for everything, this wasn't it.
Illinifan88
These people are fucking morons, but it doesn't look like they would have made a difference. People staying home was a bigger problem.
But the biggest problem was tens of millions of people voting for a fucking fascist that ran on nothing more than racism and retribution against his enemies. The very few specific policies he's proposed are all going to make inflation skyrocket and destroy the economy.
Zahnradfee
In German we say that something is "a choice between plague and cholera" if both options are equally bad. But here it was a choice between the common cold and rabies.
qyrriqat
SillyZombie
No. Anyone classifying Biden or Harris as bad is just a fucking moron. It wasn't a decision between bad and worse. It was "OK" and "the worst fucking thing that coud possibly happen" And purists can just go eat an entire bag of dicks
Unclescam
I have asked why Kamala or Joe are bad and haven't even gotten an argument, just statements that they're bad because they are.
My main grief with Biden's politics was he had a large hand in The Shawshank Redemption bombing in theaters.
SillyZombie
*AUDBLE SNORT* gj that was my first amusement in 14+hours
jplusc
the biggest mistake was biden attempting a 2nd term. if he would not have, we could of had a proper primary and the canidate could of had more than 100 days to run a campaign.
SillyZombie
that wasnt the issue and anyone who says it was should slap themselves firmly
jplusc
I'll let the people I know who didn't vote who felt cheated out of a primary know that.
just to be clear, I did vote as blue as I could. but I had so many in my immediate circle who did not vote or voted 3rd party. it may be only a 1/2 dozen, but that is part of the missing 20 million dem votes.
micuu
Harris didn't do much with October. Time wasn't the issue, what the campaign talked about was. Need to hammer home that Trump's plan was to cut social security and slap tariff taxes on everything.
SillyZombie
literally this is the opposite of true
eaeaeaeaea
Democrats don't know what the hell they are doing. They need to stop with the god damn identity politics and focus on shit that actually matters to everyone.
micuu
This was the problem with their messaging. Not enough of the latter. And too much focusing on Trump. Needed to present a better alternative, instead of just being not him.
LondoMollari58
Straight to the front page. Everyone needs to read this.
This was preventable.
jayman0123
18-20 million people didn't vote, if even HALF that amount voted Harris, we wouldn't be having this issue
DukeSliscus
FoamingToad
Cool. Do they hypothetically think there will be *fewer weapons sold to Israel over the coming four years?
SillyZombie
and how many votes would have been lost if they said that. Fucking morons
DukeSliscus
It literally says so oh my god can you even read LMAO
Remmon1
7% in Pennsylvania, 5% in Arizona and Georgia, according to that same source.
bananabonanza3
Very well written. Anyone who voted for Biden but sat this one out is a traitor. And now America is fucked. Is this what you wanted?
ComradeBinch
It only mattered if they were in one of 7 swing states and THATS what you should be mad about. Thats how this shit is decided
RandomnessSlayer
Trump WON the popular vote... IMHO it doesn't matter what the electoral college split was... This electoral college focus is a red herring...
Imagine the difference if Kamala had WON the popular vote but still lost all the swing states, I think that would be far more impactful to the discussion surrounding the election...
But that she LOST the popular vote, the EC didn't really even need to come into play.
You don't see the blue demographics that don't vote - it showed.. Disproportionately...
Aurentis
No. Every single person, in every state, who choose not to show up, or showed up but threw away their vote to a hopeless third party for a self-indulgent moral high is responsible. Sure, the swing states are weighted ridiculously high, but if all those fuckers has showed up for sanity, had bit the bullet and just fucking picked Harris, he'd have lost pretty much everywhere. But they didn't. By third-party and abstention they nodded their silent assent.
PointsWhore
The whole American system is complicit in genocide, not just in Palestine, but every other place they accused with weapons of mass destruction of, or collapsing their towers vertically, and causing the whole other nation to suffer.
DSREX
you are sounding like one of those Jet fuel cant melt steel beams types.
Let me know so I can down vote you and block you if that is the case.
Baconlovesyoutoo
Jet fuel can melt steel beams, but only if it's in a pressurized state. In a jet engine the fuel burns at up to 3000F, outside of that engine jet fuel burns at about 1500F and the melting point of steel is between 2500 and 2750F.
DSREX
And in an enclosed and impact wakened environment, the beams do not need to melt but weaken under 1500F heat.
23 years later and people still dont understand, but I guess structural engineering concepts are a bit above the average person.
Baconlovesyoutoo
Convenient how you went from 'melt steel beams' to 'weaken under 1500F heat', professor.
PointsWhore
Block me, banish me, do as you wish, but do let me know once you grow up and are mature enough to have a conversation, love!
bananabonanza3
Okay, I can sympathize with that. Did not voting help that or hurt that?
PointsWhore
You might now have more internal problems to focus INSIDE than rampaging the poor and the weak OUTSIDE.
bananabonanza3
Always have bud. Everyone does. You don’t win any brownie points for being an asshole about it. And you’re barking up the wrong tree, I think just about everyone here hates the American Industrial Military Complex.
PointsWhore
Your elected officials, representing your public, keeps on passing legislations to not just continue your own conquests but now supporting others to follow the genocidal path. Your nation is special, if you commit or aid genocide then it’s freedom, if Russia does anything (cultural genocide, in their case) then it’s all fallacy.
OhIfIMust
Those fuckfaces are so fucking delusional: Palestine will be NO FUCKING MORE with that fucking guy back in power.
ComradeBinch
You monsters dont actually give a fuck about palestine either way. Good job tuning in once every 4 years though i guess
TinyLiehon
Trump is in real estate and has a Jewish SIL who already has been involved in the situation. They'll make so much profit on building and developing in the vacated Gaza strip. LPT for Palestines on the West Bank: try to save yourself. Netanyahu needs scapegoats and WB will follow Gaza
keybladers
Don’t blame the third parties. If you look at the margin of victory in the swing states, if 90% of every third party voter went to Harris we’d still be in the same boat. 100% in Georgia, NC, Nevada and Arizona
minipancho94
it wasnt going to exist with harris in power either. Places in michigan biden won with 88% of the vote, harris lost badly because they felt they didnt have to win over voters. the dems were overconfident and prioritized their corporate donors over their base and this is the result. leftist policy overall had more votes as well, so it wasnt that these people wrent voting either. mail in ballots wont all be counted till friday though and theres so much shady shit that happened so contest away, 1/2
minipancho94
but the fact that you immediately turn to blaming these people is part of the problem with the current state of the democratic party. they leashed waltz, and when they had the momentum with the "republicans are weird" thing, they instead flipped 180 and tried to appeal to republicans and further alienated their base. this shit about blaming these voters only serves to drive the dems further right as a ratchet and only helps the fascist. 2/2
MCNewYorkLives
"what's a gaza?" Once we get to that point, Gaza and Palestine will be a forgotten memory .
SaveitforQueenDoppelpoppolus
i think you're being an optimist if you think it ends with palestine being the only part of the middle east that won't exist anymore
OhIfIMust
Where did I say that?
SaveitforQueenDoppelpoppolus
i meant "you" in like the general sense regarding any potential person reading the comment, rather than like you the singular commenter specifically
DukeSliscus
Third party votes did not swing the election, look at the numbers. Refusing to take an actual progressive stance on Israel however...
minipancho94
yup, classic shitlib scapegoating. rather than accepting responsibility that they drove away their biggest supporters and those that do most of the volunteering for them, they're just going to blame someone and ratchet further to the right alienating their base even more.
DukeSliscus
The source if you are interested
https://zeteo.com/p/poll-harris-democrats-gaza-ceasefire-arms-embargo
I have a feeling that we're going to see a lot of "freaking far left did this!" from libs as a cope
minipancho94
yup. fuck i voted for her against my own conscience, but all these people who try to blame arab voters for being disenfranchised while watching their entire bloodline be systemically exterminated by weapons their taxes paid for, and approved by those they voted and campaigned for, are as sick in the head as the GQP fascist. fuck even if it somehow was their fault, i would not blame them in the slightest. like fuck imagine someone shooting your dog and then telling you have to vote for them 1/2
minipancho94
because the other guy is going to shoot you instead. like why would they even want to participate at that point, especially with the person who shot your dog is just going to do it again the moment they dont need your vote. i wouldnt be surprised if many flipped just to make everyone suffer with them tbh. 2/2
OhIfIMust
And Ukraine is gonna have a REALLY fucking hard time, too. The EU and Nato are really gonna have to step up their game.
DarthVaderDidNothingWrong
Sadly, Europe already nears its limits. We don't have the kind of war stuff just waiting around that you have.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/1303432/total-bilateral-aid-to-ukraine/
eaeaeaeaea
Damn, almost like one area of the world wasn't spending near as much on defense as another due to one particular country fronting the cost.
DarthVaderDidNothingWrong
That's part of it, yes. There's also the immense costs of rebuilding the former East Bloc, there's been the hope and belief that within Europe no big war would come, and there's the fact that the US spends outrageous amounts for themselves for their own reasons and out of self interest.
eaeaeaeaea
Rebuilding an eastern bloc that now swings right wing populist. And yes, it is self-interest but its a self-interest europe has been coasting off. Damn Trump to hell but he was right on that account.
