Because my living room doesn’t get enough natural light (and I don’t want grow lights where I’m watching TV) I present to you- my office!
I love finding weird looking plants. Long leaves and bright colors tend to catch my eyes
Couple of favorites down here.. Serratum..Lindenii..Cuprea
More favorites up here too- the billietiae (bee-yeh-tee-yay) with the big lobes and orange stems was one of my first big buys, he’ll always be one of my favorites
Inside the terrarium- lots of philodendrons; gloriosum, splendid, squamiferum, painted lady, Melanochrysum, pedatum- looking at these makes me feel like a dragon looking at his hoard of jewels
I repurposed a stereo cabinet for higher humidity/heat- though it’s more dry in here than in the terrarium
and finally my propagation station! Fresh, oxygenated water with loads of beneficial bacteria make roots pop really fast in here- better than a lot of other mediums I’ve tried. I have guppies, khuli loaches, neocaridina shrimp, and tylomelania (rabbit) snails

i dont understand it. i've never been able to get a single plant to grow my whole entire life. how do people do this

The biggest key for me was the soil. Regular potting soil gets compacted and retains too much water so the roots rot asap

Always looks like they need water too- even though too much caused the problem. After the roots die it can’t take up water and it’ll dry out

i think i have 2 issues. my apartment faces north so i get no sunlight. ever. and the other its extremly dry in here. 40% humidity

I’m in norcal so same here- there’s plenty that’ll survive little to no humidity, but I definitely need supplemental lights
