Yes, the running joke throughout the series is Ross would start talking about Dinosaurs and his friends would beg him to shut up, or pretend to show to emphasize how boring his job was. They could have had him talking about numbers or whatever, but dinosaurs?

The popular theory is an asteroid, the Chicxulub impactor, parked itself in the Yucatan Peninsula and did quite a bit of terraforming. Responsible for snuffing out about 75% of all life on earth, this lil guy did originate in Space.
