It is named after Elk Creek because an army dude saw some Elk tracks near a creek and named a creek that. Due to overhunting Elk don’t really exist there anymore. There aren’t Elk to protect sadly.

A high school friend and I used to drive down this dirt road that was oddly 10 minutes from our normal suburbia, roll down all the windows and scream as loud as we could to just let out all the teenage angst.

Middle aged now and still nothing more cathartic or tension releasing than putting on a good, warm rain coat and screaming into the crashing waves and rumbling skies during a thunderstorm. Feels utterly ridiculous during but so therapeutic after.
