"I want the guy who says he wants to run the country like a business but also bankrupted every business he's ever run. Including 6 casinos."

They're not children. Children are children. They're stupid adults. You know, that mature time of life when accountability kicks in?

This reaction is why they voted for him.

We're there 2 teachers in your class when you were at school is my current favourite.

Fun fact: People who subtitle things twice should be laughed at.

When I worked retail, I was always amazed by how adults couldn't figure out incredibly simple things. We basically needed a sign for everything in the store or someone would fuck everything up. I used to think to myself "how could someone who can't figure out a straw own a house, a car, and hold down a job?" Well, turns out literally every is just that stupid with everything.

Is it really that difficult to give your post a title?
I know it's expecting a lot, but I think we can do better.

Grew up in the Midwest, I know these kinda people. I almost *was* one of those people. To me, the worst thing a person can be is incurious and basically everywhere I lived, people seemed completely oblivious to anything beyond their next day off, their next beer, or the next episode on TV. If they traveled, it was to Vegas or Orlando (always cheap flights from nowhere), none left the country apart from Niagara Falls. Wealth was McMansions, firearms and quads. Nobody wants to learn anything.

To top it off they take their stupidity as a badge of honor

3 days ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Yes, but it needs more shitty subtitles. Maybe ones that scroll vertically from the bottom?

Look at US literacy levels and cry some more... More than half the country (54%) cant read above a six grade level.. So yeah, there's your problem... An Engineered problem to... Sorry.

Has the benefit of being 100% true.

I know a lot of conservatives. They're not stupid, they're just on an entirely different track, and it's logically consistent. They hold that the government is inherently bad and deserves to be dismantled, the environment doesn't matter because God gave it to us to use and the end times will happen before we experience consequences. Trump isn't a fraudulent pedo, he's doing to the government what each and every one of them want to do themselves, they're envious. Also, those kids wanted it?

It's not like this bizaro world view happened overnight, it's been incremental over decades. We need to get to a point where embracing the end times is disqualifying for a post of public service. If your long term plan is rape the plant and reach for the embrace of God , you don't have any business in long term planning

In 2020, at the end of Trump’s first term, he got 38% of the vote in NY state. And in 2024, he got 44%. In california, it was 34% then 38!% This attitude that it was only “backwater hicks from middle America” who voted for him is part of the reason America is in this mess. There’s this notion that there’s a huge cultural divide between red states and blue states, but only to people who are ignorant to how pervasive certain attitudes are *all across america*.

As a Canadian, this is one of the reasons why I’m so tired of hearing Americans say “but it’s not all of us!” Yes. It is all of you. Not every single individual, no. But there’s nowhere in America that gets a pass, nowhere that gets to claim he doesn’t represent him, nowhere that gets to be disassociated from the shame, nowhere that doesn’t suffer from the same broken trust with friends and allies around the world. As has been said many times, Trump isn’t the disease, he’s the symptom
.

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But it’s not like the disease is isolated to a malignant tumour that can be cut out. It’s everywhere, all over America. And the rest of the world is fed up with ALL of you.

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, and if anyone wants to come in and claim that the election was rigged, that Trump has admitted to it, etc. etc. etc. Fine. Let’s assume that’s true. What are you doing about it? You’re like the parent watching the toddler throw things onto the floor at the grocery store saying “yup, he sure does throw a tantrum, wish somebody would discipline him”. FUCKING DO SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR ASSHOLE COMMANDER-IN-CHILD.

The goal wasn’t for anything other than open racism and feeding the xenophobic hearts of closeted treasonous Nazi sympathizers.

I'mma start practicing political intolerance.

Again: NO Democratic president has gotten a majority of white men's OR white women's votes since Kennedy. Not Carter. Not Clinton. Not Obama. White men tend to vote about 65% republican and white women around 55% Republican across the country (the loss of abortion rights cost the GOP 3% in this election, white women "only" voted 52% GOP). Because, and this is important: A majority of white voters in America hate minorities more than they like having rights themselves.

Some were hoping for first class citizenship and legal right to go kill their neighbor, take their stuff and enslave the women folk. Financial pain is a great motivator. But instead of punching upwards to make unions and demand better wages they wanted to get deputized so they could go eat their neighbor. If that really was allowed, the rich folks would just increase cost of living and the dipshits would be back to square one in a year or two anyways.

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For a lot of them yes, absolutely. There are a lot of closeted racists.
But a lot of them are just absolute idiots who thought voting for an "outsider" would help, and were too stupid to realize that a billionaire is inevitably going to be someone primarily out for their own profit.

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The goal is always money. The culture war, racism, transphobia, etc is all just a tool to achieve one thing: tax cuts and more money. The GOP suckered working-class voters into supporting their small-government tax cutting philosophy by appealing to cultural and religious issues. The true GOP leadership doesn't care about any of that nonsense. It's all about the money.

3 days ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

You deserve all the upvotes.

Forest for the trees, people.

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Money is the reason why the elected gop is doing their thing, but I would think that xenophobia and hate is why people voted for them. They voted against their own interests, so money can't be the reason why they voted the way they did. Unless they were too stupid to realise they were voting against their own interests... Which makes sense sadly. I'm sorry for you guys

3 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You are talking about the leaders, not the voters.

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, that's an important point. The GOP leadership since Reagan has been using the religious right and culture wars to advance their core agenda of tax cuts. Some portion of their voters are primarily motivated by money and aren't bigots or culture warriors. But that number is probably shrinking.
