I’m not super artistic, but I made this Fallout 4 Sole Survivor cosplay.

Finished product first, as is tradition.

Sorry I was kinda inconsistent on taking photos during the process and didn’t start taking photos until I started the shoulder piece.

I was lucky and found this classic Massachusetts plate with the DMV sticker from Oct ‘77 still on it! For those not up on the Fallout lore, the bombs dropped Oct 23rd 2077, so this was a nice little bonus detail I was very happy to be able to add.

I used some thin upholstery padding for the backing.

Sprayed it with some adhesive and sewed some PU leather over it.

Done sewing! It’s a little janky, but that just fits with something a wasteland survivor might cobble together on the fly.

Figuring out how to mount the plate to it was tough at first. In the end I went with some denim buttons through both the plate and padding, and also through the leather straps which you can see in later photos.

Painting the guns! We started with a matte black spray paint on some nerf guns.

Then dry-brushed over it with some metallic silver craft paint.

Nerf Retaliator w/ a Rival red-dot sight to represent the combat rifle.

And a Maverick to serve as the 10mm pistol.

This holster used to be a women’s boot. Got the pair of them from goodwill for just a couple bucks, cut the sole off, tucked the toe into the heel and sewed it up.

First fit test! Here you can see how the denim buttons hold the shoulder piece together with the straps.
