My Oma and Opa, they were madly in love for over 40 years.
My oma was 16, outside Königssee. My opa and her were going to get married (she was pregnant with my great uncle).1939
My great aunt, grandma, great uncle and oma.
My oma and opa, nearly every photo of them has him looking at her. Makes me wish everyone's grandparent's could be like that.
My opa was an engineer, and worked on planes and stuff. Here he is on a glider in the 20s.
My grandma on the right with my uncle and mum
I think my opa may have been Harry Potter.
My opa on his first day of school, isn't he adorable?
My grandma stole this red sweater, as you can see from the smirk. Her sister was not happy.
My grandma as a child grew a tumor behind her eye and required surgery and removed the eye and placed a glass eye. They botched the surgery and the eye would no longer close over it. They tried to fix it, it didn't work. But she still looks like a movie star to me
My grandma in her 20s. She hates all the pictures of herself, but I love them. And I love you grandma.
My great grandma's (I called her Oma) dad I think? Egon, he was a painter and he's drawing out in the forest in Berlin.
My grandma's last school photo taken before she left Germany.
My family traveled to the East,
Outside a temple in Cambodia in 1914
Apparently they decided this statue also needed a hat
A lot of these photos are missing names, we know one of them is my oma's aunt.
I love this stache, someone should bring them back. This is my great-great-grandfather
Great great grandfather again, when I asked my grandma she just said "That's opa". Doesn't help Grandma!
My opa's mother, I don't know her name

I know it's no pokemon post or a day in the life. But this is my family, and maybe someone will find it interesting. I know many people don't have a family album stretching over 100 years, so I hope you find it interesting at all.
Some facts, these are photos of my german side of the family, my oma (great-grandma) and opa, (great grandad) came to Canada in the 50s, they saw the "writing on the wall" so to speak and decided it was time to leave Berlin. They warned their family to leave, but they preferred their piano and house to leaving home and remained on the other side of the wall when it was built (Stupid). They lived in Quebec for many years until they moved to eastern Ontario.
I unfortunately no photos of my Irish family, my grandad spoke little of it. We learned after he died that he was born in India which is why we couldn't find a birth certificate. Families are filled with stories.

If someone actually viewed the whole album and could reply to me with the ones from the 19th century, upvotes

That's really neat! Thanks for posting. Also - schultuete! Best thing about going to school. That and a brand new schultasche of course.

Always wondered what those were, now I know :) Wish I had those growing up

Oh! Basically, when you start school in Germany/Austria you'll receive one, filled with treats and items you need for school or just toys.

It's meant to be only for your first day of school (primary). But that did not keep me from trying to annoy my parents each year for one.
