Per this post, I decided to do a little more footwork into the claims.

(This seems unrelated, but more at end of post)

Honestly, I started this fact-finding mission because I wasn't convinced that this was not a schizophrenic with delusions or just political-reasons liar.
But then the show-transcription also bringing up calendar girls... That transcription came after the claim was made with the FBI, but said tip was not public knowledge. So as much as I have a heavy skepticism for post-2019 claims, I'm not skeptical on this one.
Now, the promised more!

Dershowitz that slimy little lawyer WORM... ugh.. Anyway, tag your politics using #politics and/or #trump PLEASE. Appreciated.

At some point, we're going to have to agree that Justice isn't going to be provided. I want to live in a society where no one takes matters into their own hands, but these people don't get punished. Maybe it's none of my business, I'm just sick of people hurting other people.

Be careful everyone. These are not the files you are looking for. Stolen from Reddit.

The Calendar Girl tip is an anonymous tip called in to the FBI in 2020 well after the entire scandal was blowing up. Most anonymous FBI tips are garbage, especially when a big story is being brought up like this.
johnathanrossshoulddie
That tip was actually entered before the calendar girl shit came to light, which means it probably should have been investigated...

Since this isn't a MAC EUI64 based address, this address is most likely randomised for the host part (rightmost bits), especially if it has privacy extension enabled. Thus no connection (huh) can be made between a specific host and this address. The prefix though (first 48, 56, or 64 bits, sometimes longer for non RFC compliant ISPs) can point to a specific customer though, depending on ISP practices (and RFC compliance again)
chuckaholic
I really need to learn about ipv6. Is there a cert you can recommend to get me up to date? (IT support for 25 years, but falling behind on new tech)
MyOtherPetIsACat
Not really, I just read the RFCs as they came out (the 'tism *might* have helped), and experimented with it since 2002 or so. I had a geek-friendly ISP who gave out /48s to end users, it was pretty rad. And they were in 2001:: space too! And of course Linux and other Unices were IPv6 capable very early on, so a Linux router is a great way to experiment with what closed/proprietary hardware does under the hood
tylerlarson
Why are you trying to dox a victim? She clearly made the report from her cell phone from Canada. Just leave it at that and let her be.
sneakypoo
An IP leading to the same PC/router after almost 6 years is extremely unlikely I would say.
forelle
Not with IPv6
oznobz
The beauty of ipv6 is there are so many addresses that it's unlikely someone else would get that address. So if he had found a computer with that address, it would be nearly impossible for it to be any one else. The ISP is almost assuredly the same unless the ISP itself was sold. Every grain of sand on Earth could be issued a new ipv6 address every millisecond and it would still take longer than the current age of the Earth before ipv6 would allow a duplicate.
ELKronos
I get what you mean about IPv6’s huge space. Random collisions are basically impossible. But this isn’t a collision question; it’s reassignment/rotation. ISPs can reissue the same prefix/address later, and many devices use temporary/privacy IPv6s that change. So the same IPv6 years later doesn’t strongly prove it’s the same machine/person. At most it suggests the same ISP’s allocation.
ThingsThatDontJustifyGenocide
I figure the route will be similar even after a while, unless everyone's just decided that IPv6 can simply go wild and be anything. I don't have the requisite knowledge to know.
sundaymondayhippyday
Huh? Explain it like I don’t get it
schlummi
Similar as in "same region/city" probably. IP adresses can change daily, depending on ISP. If you disconnect the router or reset it you might already be given a new IP. ISP keeps the logs, but sometimes just for a few days.
ELKronos
At best you might infer ‘same ISP/region,’ but even that’s fuzzy. IPv6 prefixes/addresses can rotate (sometimes on reconnect, sometimes on a schedule), and many clients use privacy/temporary IPv6s that change regularly. Also traceroute/geolocation can reflect ISP topology rather than the customer. Log retention varies a lot by ISP/jurisdiction, so ‘a few days’ isn’t something you can really assume either
ThingsThatDontJustifyGenocide
Yes, same region/city was the point of checking. Ottowa, Canada, location for that.

This isn't politics anymore, this is a moral imperative
cocofx
It is moral stupidity
NChomsky
It's a moral imperative to be subjected CONSTANTLY to deliberately untagged politics on a meme site? Quit the melodramatic bullshit of "if people don't see my list of elite child-molesters on a meme site, they'll never know what's going on!". You know it's possible for people like me are ACTUALLY involved in politics IRL right? Are you Murkan or something?
TyphoonMuscles
I don't think it's a moral failing to not want to read fairly graphic descriptions of children being sexually assaulted.
fubizdaddie
I didn't read the graphic descriptions. Who forced you? Some people are so desperate to give away their agency so they can bitch whit what they've been forced to do. Fuck you.
fubizdaddie
"Guys, I don't want to talk about important stuff or politics" -- a user with a Chomsky reference in their username.
NChomsky
I swim in this piss & shit all day, do you think I maybe deserve a break when I come home? "A guy with Chomsky in his name". Scroll through my history Einstien, I get pulled into this slop all the time. Far too much, frankly. The point is not my namesake is involved in politics, it's do the right thing and don't be an asshole: tag your posts and especially when politely asked by fellow imgurians. Notice OP STILL hasn't tagged his post, that makes him an *ASSHOLE*.
Lardzor
I don't think any mainstream news will risk their reputations by promoting any of the horrendous allegations contained in the Epstein Files without independent verification. I think they're concerned that if they do, they risk having the allegations proved false and they will be sued or at the minimum be shamed for being duped.
PoorBoyChevelle
This, unfortunately. These are transcriptions of tip-line calls that weren't or were unable to be followed up on as best I can tell

Why exactly are they called Calender Girls? Every time I see/hear that I immediately think of that 2003 movie with Helen Mirren.
LiterallyAWizard
"Calendar Girl" is the term used for pinup girls used in 'adult' calendars, usually in underwear or swimsuits. They might be/have been using it as a means to 'sanitize' their communications when those communications needed to be seen by other eyes - for example, the people organizing their parties for them, or the catering staff who needed to know what they were catering for.

Its talking in code. Same reason people call drugs by nicknames, and the slang is always changing. You can say the thing, but you havent said THE thing that is incrimnating.

Hoe much evidence does it take?

Sadly, Trump could admit to everything and nothing would happen…
Kaleopolitus
At this point, it takes someone brave.
super3dcow
Based on the Facebook junk I see, maga assumes that all the new files are only FBI callers, aka random people who just wanted to flood them with misinformation and thus none of it is credible. This is how little effort they put into everything.
HoneyandFire
They want to literally see it with their eyes.
alluro2
Nothing's going to happen... People who don't want to believe it will just, once more, say it's fake and made up by libs/dems/etc. People who know it's true and can do something about it are either in it as well, or have financial interest in things being as they currently are. He said it himself - he could shoot someone on camera and nothing would happen.
vanishinggirl
Sounds like the Panama Papers- get rid of the source that’s exposing the ugly deed, and then all will go quietly in the dark.
LicensedAdHominem
As always: you cannot reason with the unreasonable. No amount of evidence will convince someone who believes in the impossible but kills before admitting the obvious.
They still bleed though.
Rangar
At this point, I don't think it matters anymore. There's enough damning evidence to bury the average Joe till the world burns, and yet no one will arrest these people. We live in a tiered system of justice in the US, always have, we're just finding out there's a tier that seems untouchable to justice, and it will damn this country.
crypticorb
At this point I'm just hoping some vigilante takes justice into their own hands.
tylerlarson
It isn't about the evidence. The laws are, for the moment, irrelevant.
The SCOTUS will not convict trump of anything and will overturn any convictions issued by lower courts.
He goes free, and the truth doesn't matter. Not right now, at least.
The only way forward is to utterly disgust enough Americans so that politics swap and the courts can be purged of corruption. By then trump will be long dead. He will not be convicted during his lifetime.
Rogahar
All I'm getting from it so far is that Epstein didn't kill himself bc it's pretty apparent he had quite literally every single rich and powerful person in existence in his pocket and could've gotten away scot free.
sundaymondayhippyday
Well then ask yourself 1 Question…. Who Was The President When Epstein’s Jail Security Cameras Were Disabled & He Died?
Rogahar
Why does that matter? If he's in the files or helped prevent their release, throw him in jail too. Everyone involved should be punished, and I don't give a fuck which party they align themselves with.
ThingsThatDontJustifyGenocide
In my mind, it takes quite a lot. Like right now there is the claim in 2020, which by itself I see as not very credible, but it's now tied to the poland thing that uses the words(at least according to machine translation) of "calendar girls" as something Trump was calling women at a party in 1992, which said clip can then be found and authenticated, which them makes the chain 2020=>2022=>1992 and neither the 2020-part nor the 2022-part are aware of each other, thus meaning there's no (1/2)
ThingsThatDontJustifyGenocide
(2/2) introduction of other information for the 2020-claimant.
Which is to say, a claim gets MUCH MORE credible when it features details that were not in public-reporting before the claim was made, but for which the claim is similarly not in public but some details become public later.
"calendar girls" features in two separate places about Trump, unaware and unconnected to each other, pointing back to a Trump statement in 1992.
ThingsThatDontJustifyGenocide
That said: The term was used in media prior to 2020, thus prior to the claim, just not featured in the documents released commonly, so we lose that "not in the media"-benefit: https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2019/07/trump-and-epstein-and-28-girls-new-york-times
Which thusly loops us right back into "well fuck, seems like a schizophrenic" especially considering the claimant appears to have been accessing the FBI from Ottowa Canada to make that claim. Damn.
