In the garden

Many of my plants have a resident female jumping spider and several males who don't know they are lunch. Occasionally I come across another spood species and today it was this little dude(tte), Sidymella trapezia, aka Square-ended Crab Spider. The drops of water gives an indication of size.

These dude(tte)s don't build webs or use silk to trap prey but are instead ambush predators pretending prey can't see them until it is too late. Totally harmless, which is unusual for an Australian animal.
