Long story short, the car lost power on the highway. The total to get it fixed came in at over $2000... Just days after our fridge broke down, so the buffer was already used. I tried checking gofundme for similar stories, the only one I found got £85 in total, 3 months ago.
I could do fine without a car if I were alone, but I sort of need to drive my kids around. Any tips for where to get help?

Upvoted for not trying to turn imgur into gofundme. I would contact your local department of human services and see what help you qualify for. Use foodbanks instead of buying food so you can use that money elsewhere. Are you taking your kids to after school events? Have you reached out to other parents that go to them and see if they can help out? I hope you find peace someday soon stranger. I know what it feels like to be lost with no sure way to a better place. Sometimes all U can do is hangon

For real, power going out while driving might be something as simple as a bad alternator. Which on most cars is fairly easy to replace.

By power I meant engine power, basically down to maybe 10-20% of the power left, luckily I had enough power to reach the next exit, but didnt dare to try going up the exit.

It's in Norwegian, but it's two injectors ++

Injectors shouldn't be $2k even with labor. They're fairly simple to replace. I'd suggest doing it yourself.

Could be more involved if its a diesel.

It's also the injector holders, diesel filter, gaskets etc.
