I watched this movie every day when I was lil but sometimes I didn't actually follow dialogue in movies so years later this bit was like new to me & it's my favorite part. Just the "all day, ALL day....but you know...6, 7 weeks later started talkin' again" gets me every. Damn. TIME. I miss Candy. I was still pretty young when he passed but I knew who he was, had seen or my siblings had recorded >_> lots of movies with him. That's how I saw Summer Rental :-)

Chris Columbus wanted Candy for the part but he didn't think it would happen... when Candy agreed they could only get him for a day... so Candy spent 23 hours on set. He got paid $400. It was done as a favour to John Hughes and Columbus
