IMGUR! Canadian Women need your help!

**Disclaimer: I know, I know, I know. This is one of THE most debatable subjects of our time. I don't wish to start a war on Imgur. This is just something I believe needs to be heard and I want something done about it!**

This is The Morgentaler Clinic in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. It is an Abortion Clinic that has been owned and operated by Henry Morgentaler until his death last year. It is being forced to close its doors this Summer due to lack of funding.

Morgentaler has been a Women's Rights activist his entire life. His clinic in Fredericton is privately owned, but needs funding from the government to pay for procedures that women need who cannot come up with the funding on their own. Up until his death, Morgentaler personally funded many of the procedures that otherwise could not have been done. For the past decade, Morgentaler was in a legal battle with the government of New Brunswick to try to get better funding for his clinic.
Abortions are LEGAL in Canada, however the Morgentaler Clinic is the only privately operated clinic East of Quebec (besides one in NFLD). This means that 3 provinces rely on this clinic. Women can have the procedure done in hospitals in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, but the procedure needs to be deemed MEDICALLY NECESSARY and has to be backed by TWO DIFFERENT doctors before it will be done. These requirements make it nearly impossible to have the procedure done and so many women turn to desperate, damaging, and sometimes fatal procedures of abortions.

It's never an easy subject to discuss, but one thing is for certain: the closing of this clinic won't making abortions go away, it will only put more women's lives at risk.
