Someone expected to make money with an undergrad psych degree? That's cute.
sprbwlshuffler
Wait a minute: a more lucrative major yields a more lucrative occupation? Who knew? The Psych major sure didn't.

Nobody will hire a BA or a BS in psych. Get a masters. Then a phd. You might get a job in some fields. Or, take the therapy route. You will.

I heard she was really confused because she got a perfect score for the pic she took of the male making her Subway sandwich in one class
wooshheeyonnn
Well that was for her gender studies minor

As a female engineer, I get discriminated against by male colleagues on a daily basis. It isn't just about what you study
I once lost out on a job because they joked that they would have to put in female bathrooms
To clarify she was talking about the gap in employment opportunity between psychology and liberal art degrees Vs engineering and comp sci.

Duh. Get your ass to grad school or quit complaining (what did she think was going to happen with a psych degree?).
dkevox
School shootings keep happening and psychologists might just become "in demand".

I wish I lived in that world, reality is that eventually schools will have "Running man" style explosive collars before they think about it
STARWARSjustkeepsgettingworsesince1983
if you want a gurantee you'll get a job over a male candidate, go be a surrogate mother instead.
Or get a degree as an engineer ... my female friends who did that all make more than me
This isn't about getting one over a male. It's about male engineers getting jobs while she, a psychologist, can't
What they said.
wasnt really being serious there. i should probably stand here handing out grains of salt as people pass by.

Warning! Women should be respected not laughed at. ( I got downvoted to hell yesterday for an unsanctioned comment.)

I respectfully treat women as equal by laughing at them when their stupid. Just like I would with men
You are a brave man. Tip my hat to you.

There's actually an issue in the culture of engineering that causes woman to fall out. Entering class has a good ratio while grad class is 1
2 predominantly men. Source: I'm a male mechancial engineer.

Think you got that wrong friend, you are in debt a home loan worth. Every company is looking for experenced engineers with 3-5 years. GL.
Cronos51101
Nope, engineers are in super high demand right now. My company is hiring everyone decent they can get their hands on.
doubledoubleanimalstyle
What type of engineering?
Mechanical. We do industrial and manufacturing automation. So hot right now.
MrPilkington
I got a job offer a semester before I graduated. I'm an engineer, don't believe that is the case
Then you were on of the few lucky ones.
sneef
All of my engineering friends that have graduated also have jobs, some even work before they graduate.
Everyone in my class that I know of has a job, but i'm civil so that may be easier?
shootyourgooCthulhu
I'm mechanical, everyone in my classes now have jobs as well.
