Where to Park and Where to Go

You can park behind "Jack in the box" for $7 for 8h (723 E San Ysidro Blvd, San Diego, CA 92173) and you follow the new pedestrian path to Mexican border crossing.

Trolley / Tramway

Around 1000 feet away from the border. A trolley can bring you at this point for a few bucks. It is Wednesday 13 January 2016 around 10 O'clock.

A 400 m de la frontière. Un tramway amène les personnes aux portes du Mexique. On est le Mercredi 13 Janvier 2015 vers 10h.

Pedestrian way 1

Further on the left (from the trolley station), you see the path dedicated to pedestian border crossing. This path is brand new, less than 1 year old.

On a pris l'angle un peu plus loin a gauche et on arrive dans le chemin reserve au personnes qui traverse la frontière a pied. Ce chemin est tout recent (moins d'un an).

Pedestrian way 2

Closer. You go around the concrete shelter and you arrive on the path to the Mexico's gate.

D'un peu plus pres. On contourne l'abri en béton et on arrive sur un chemin qui se dirige vers la grille de Mexico.

Pedestrian way 3

On our way to the famous Mexico's gate, once passed, impossible to go back.

Sur le chemin qui nous mène a la fameuse grille "Mexico", une fois franchie, impossible de faire demi tour.

Mexican check 2

Passports verification and Mexican administrative document writing. It is forbidden to take pictures inside hence I have taken internet pictures instead of its official opening (august 2015). (internet photos)

Same but other side angle (internet photo). There were no long line but you will still have to wait between 30 and 40 minutes.

Bagage check 1

Once passed, you make a right and a right (like a U) and you wait to eventually push a red button ... Why? I dont know. (internet photo)

Une fois passe, on tourne sur la droite et encore une fois sur la droite (comme un U) pour faire la queue pour finalement appuyer sur un bouton rouge ... Pourquoi? Je n'en sais rien. (photo internet)

For us, it was more like this. Empty. It lasted a few minutes. We went out of the building using the left exit and we arrived on the bridge (internet photo)

Mexico 1

Same building from behind, we followed the corridor which slightly turn left to the right of the picture on a going down way.

On retrouve le bâtiment, on suit le couloir qui bifurque sur la gauche pour arriver a droite de la photo sur une voix descendante.

Then you arrive on the street with harassing taxis.

On descend pour se retrouver dans la rue avec les Taxi qui nous harcèle.

Back to the US

There is long line for foreigners who want to go to the US without specific permit (ready lane)

Il y a une longue queue pour tous les étrangers qui n'ont pas de permis et qui souhaitent rentrer aux US.

Back to the US 1

Once the administrative building for I-94 extension (costs $6 each), you go out and follow the "all travelers" line to go back to the US (internet photo)

Back to the US 3

You scan your passport in the machine or you give it to the CBP Officer with I-other official papers and it is over, you go out towards the US. It was a 45 minutes wait for us (internet photo)

On passe son passport dans le scanner ou on le présente avec les autres papiers au BCP officer et c'est termine, on sort vers les US. Il faut compter 45 minutes (photo internet)
