Tomorrow I start my last semester of college. Half of me is excited and the other half of me is
I'm so nervous that I won't be able to find a job. Everyone keeps telling me that I will be able to with my degree (math major, German minor). But nothing is ever a sure thing.
At the same time I'm so ready to be done with school. I can't wait to work a job, clock out, and then not have to worry about homework.

Nothing pisses me off more than people being broke because "recently graduated and unemployed - it's so hard to find a job in my field".

I was also afraid of finding a job so i just decided to stay in school. Enjoy the last semester-it goes by too quickly.

Let me tell you that the period in school was the LEAST stressful ever. Homework was all you had to worry about. Oh and condoms.

I doubled with CS, but math majors are great candidates for almost all forms of grad school, including law school. Academic rigor I suppose

Damn that's impressive! CS is no joke. Graduate school isn't in my future. I'm not interested in getting to huge amounts of debt.

I've not done grad yet, but now I work for a university & just have to get in to get a grad degree for free ... working full time though

Sounds worth it if you're getting to go to grad school for free. I think that some students take out these loans without realizing how long

it will take to pay them back. My bf's mom (retired teacher) knows people her age who are still paying back student loans.

Absolutely. It helps to be in a research field w/assistantship so that you're more of a super cheap employee, but a real salary is rad

It's not that it directly applies, it just prepares students well. You learn the subject matter in grad, & how to think/work hard undergrad

Can't remember where I saw it, but apparently it helps on the LSAT b/c it tests logical reasoning. It's also popular to dual major w/math

math? I'm hoping to get into the actuary field and do statistics and whatnot

IDK if it's mandatory, but I know people often do graduate programs after a BS in math for actuarial work.

It's not. It's more important to pass the actuary exams.

That makes sense. Out of my undergrad class I think the overwhelming majority had a double major and/or did grad school. Good luck man!
