We decided to jump in the car and head to Sellicks Beach for the week. Airbnb sorted a brilliant house (Australia is COVID free with no domestic travel restrictions... 756km)

The journey from Melbourne to Sellicks is over 8 hours. This is a pink salt lake on the way... still mined for salt...

Some silo art - there's a trail of silo art spreading across towns from Western Australia to Queensland

Day 1 driving on the beach at Sellicks.

Victory Hotel - has some nice McLaren Vale wines. It's the local wine region and easily my favourite.

Best. Lamb. Shanks. Ever. At Hortas.

This already made the missus excited.

Then this arrived...

Pier at Port Noarlunga

Bait vending machine anyone?

Back at the Victory Hotel cellar

A ride on the bike along the beach at Silver Sands was a great start to the day. Met a lady with her horse on the beach.

Cycle paths from Sellicks to North Adelaide.

Nice view. It's a great spot.

This is the colour of the Gre as t Australian Bight.... ocean across the vast majority of Southern Australia

Rapid Bay. Old limestone quarry with shipping pier.

Under the pier.

A rock in flight.

Rapid Bay.

Cave at Rapid Bay.

Wine tasting. D'Arenberg.

View across McLaren Vale region.

Molly Dooker winery. Quirky. Massive reds.

A paddles of beer ... German town Hahndorf

Pork knuckles and wurst.

Beach Ride. Just amazing.

The Coorong. Check out the original Storm Boy movie and you'll get it...

These sea dogs.

Smelly sea dogs. Possible glitch in the matrix.

Scratching that itch.

Coorong beaches...

Toot toot. Steamtrain in paradise.

Port Elliot. Amazing coastline.

Port Elliot

Port Elliot. Just fricken beautiful.

Me, Mum and my little niece did Cairns to Gladstone on the weekend. Took 6hrs to Bowen. Slept overnight. And then 8hrs to Gladstone.

Maps really distort the size of Australia. I want to go there so bad. And I want a chance to meet Dr. Karl.

JFC. The Arkaba. What a hole of a joint! Mind you it is Adelaide so it’s probably the best we have to offer :).

Gotta love Australia. Drive for 8 and a half hours and get exactly nowhere!

It'd be perfect for me... The more nowhere I can get, the better. As long as the nowhere has almost no one

There in is the rub. Thanks to covid and the end of international travel everywhere is a case of “oh no! People!”
