Reality is for pussies.

In my life there have been 6 presidential administrations and each falls into one of exactly two categories: Democrats that came in under recession and left a boom, and republicans who came in under a boom and left a recession. Clinton. Bush. Obama. Trump. Biden. Trump. Every. Fucking. One. It takes the pattern. Recognition skills of a moderately intelligent dog to figure this out.

did you notice how every other post, reply, or comment during aug-nov of 2024 was,

"PEOPLE ARE LIVING PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK!!"

it was all day, every day, everywhere all the time. Aaaand then, the election.

This is why Americans cannot have nice things !

I love the fiscal conscious party has added to debt consistently and with lower return. The family party has shown they care not at all about families or children. The law & order party has elected a likely pedophile, 34 time felony convict, adjudicated SA, who has a history of misusing funds (ie charities) as President. Not that most conservatives haven’t voted against their own interests in decades, but these days, takes the cake.

Bush Sr fucked up the economy. Bill Clinton revived it and left a surplus economy. Bush Jr fucked it up. Obama left a strong economy. Trump fucked it up and left a $27.8 trillion dollar debt. Biden left a strong economy. Trump is fucking it up worse than all Republican predecessors with a debt of $43.7 trillion and it's growing like Jack's Beanstalk.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And Trumps only plan to work on that debt is to lower interest rates so that the debt isn't as expensive. But lowering interest rates cause more inflation when inflation is already rising. I wouldn't put it past Trump to do some very short-sighted moves like printing a bunch of money as a "gift" to American people.

"Have shown signs of weakening".

Shown signs.

How about "Have inarguably weakened"?

One of the worst plagues in our lifetime and Biden manages to turn it around after Trump creates havoc.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yea, but was Biden successful in extracting Billions of dollars from taxpayers? Checkmate Democrats!

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its simple. When Biden was president all that was Trumps work. But now Trump is president all that is Biden's fault. I hear they want to rename the San Andreas Fault to Biden's Fault.

No no no, see, you're trying to use facts and logic, that's not allowed

So that's why people keep calling me a horrible person. Thank you that helps.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

People got *so* mad at me for pointing out that the economy was strong in 2022-2023. I just wasn't paying attention, people were suffering, etc.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And everything is balloons and pony rides now that Trump is back!

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

reminder biden also inherited a bad economy post covid and yet grew it in just 4 yrs. trump has had no economical issue other than his own actions.

3 months ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

It was common knowledge among anyone with even a minute interest in the subject that recovery after covid was better under Biden than most western countries. Harris had economic plans which would continue this trajectory while Trump's plans (if you can call them that) were so pisspoor that almost all living Economics Nobel Prize winners came together to warn that Trump's plans would (my words) suck compared to Harris. You must be a special kind of stupid to then vote for Trump because of eggs...

But did Biden let us be our worst self and give us vicarious systematic bullying, harassing, incarcerating, and murdering of liberals and minorities? I think NOT!

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Biden spend years reversing the damage Trump did. Trump once again is doing more damage.

A "both, and" moment. Let's attack pedophiles *and* Ted Cruz -- unless he is also a pedophile and the two sets overlap.

What happens in Cancun is his daughter’s fault.

"boom" is being awfully generous. It was a boom for the super wealthy under Biden, but for regular people it was pretty mediocre. Trumps term of course took both of those aspects and turned them up to 11.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

If you are looking at the super wealthy, that is always going up throughout all the presidencies since Reagan at least, so I'm not sure why you pick that as a metric other than maybe you have a political/posturing goal. May as well look at I dont know, ice cream production, which isnt related to presidents afaik, but goes up with population and warming climates through the years I expect. Additionally, I'm sure its gone up much more under Trump, but I havent actually checked the facts.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Anyways, the big news was even if you want to call it a mediocre increase from starting decline and pandemic, that is a big change, it just starts negative and goes up, so if you look at only the up portion, it looks smaller to anyone who doesnt pay attention.

Median incomes rose pretty significantly, after taking into account inflation. Total wages rose, too, as unemployment dropped.

It’s past time we accept that conservatives don’t care about the economy. All they care about is power.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

In the UK it is the opposite. Under our Conservatives the country was doing well, and then Labour got in and screwed it up. The last 6months of the Tories the UK was the fastest growing G7 country, inflation was down to 2%, unemployment was low etc. Then Labour screwed all all of those. Fun fact: Every Labour UK government has left office with unemployment higher than when they had come to power.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And the last Labour government left the finances in such a mess that a departing Labour finance minister LITERALLY left a note for the incoming Tory saying "sorry there's no money left!".

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can't and wouldn't speak for the UK

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Many think the UK Conservatives are the same as the US Republicans. They are very different. I mean, just look at who they chose as their current leader.... It was the Tories who legalised gay marriage in the UK. They support the NHS, they built a huge solar and offshore wind industry, they were the first G7 country to stop burning coal for electricity, they required all new houses to have EV chargers etc etc.

The "Every Democratic Presidency for the last 50 years boom" vs "Every Republican Presidency over the same time slump"

3 months ago | Likes 186 Dislikes 0

then, just for shits'n giggles, trump vs every other fucking world leader anywhere anytime

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And somehow, on every poll, americans "trust" the republicans on the economy 2 to 1.

3 months ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

“Poll” is the important word here. Polls are overwhelmingly taken by elderly retirees and elderly people who can afford to retire are overwhelmingly conservative.

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Part of it is because markets surge right after Republicans win elections because investors expect deregulation. Your average low information voter sees their retirement account go up then tunes out of politics until the next election.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Republicans promise the moon. Then they blame Democrats or minorities for their failures. Democrats don't make promises because they know they're less likely to be forgiven their failures.

3 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Democrats aren't forgiven for their accomplishments. They get crucified for failures.

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah but maybe Trump will be nicer to Gaza than Kamala. He said he was pro peace guys!

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Republicans: "Well, we've crashed the economy, again. Time to get another Democratic President to fix it so we can blame them because voters have the memory of a goldfish"

3 months ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 0

thats the funny thing in them trying to make it so never get a dem again...they will have no one to blame nor to fix the problems.

3 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Texas has had conservatives in power for decades and they still just blame shit on democrats.

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They still blame Democrats - they just shift to blaming local governments.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They'll just blame democrats even when dems have no power, like they do in red states. Aside from that, they'll just blame minorities, left wing citizens, immigrants, and pretty much anyone who isn't a heterosexual cisgender white man for all their problems. Conservatives will eat that up and keep supporting the GOP to make life worse.

3 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

"Only Republicans can fix Texas! Trust us, Democrats would make things far worse that the last 40 years we've been in power here."

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Seriously. It's really pathetic that deep red states get away with that forever. They'll be in 100% GOP control for decades, they'll be absolute shit in most metrics, and people there still vote for them and blame dems. How?! They have no power! "because leftists and immigrants" and shit is usually the answer.
