Something Special

I'm making this album to share a unique Kickstarter campaign with you guys. Please note, I have zero connection to any of the people who are running this campaign. I just think it's a really important and beautiful thing that should have a chance to be shared with the world.

This campaign is called "Thank You for Playing". It's a 'Making Of' film about a couple who made their own video game (The game is called "That Dragon, Cancer") as a tribute to their dying son. His name was Joel and he was diagnosed with an Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor (AT/RT) when he was 1 and passed away before the age of 5.

The game has become a platform for discussing and helping others cope with the horrible grief that comes with losing loved ones to illness.

The images below are screen caps from the game. It may look like a simple game from the outside, but in truth, it is hauntingly beautiful within. Unfortunately many of us, sometime in life, will be affected by loss due to illness. This game has been an open window into the world that is often kept private, where people feel like they have to suffer alone.
