So I have this knife and I don't remember how I got it and have no idea what it came from or anything but I've had it for years and I'm sure it's looked better in it's prime. Does anyone know what I can do to polish it up and make it look good again, specifically to remove all those scratches on the metal ends? My best guess it that it's brass, and I'm not sure if it's plated or solid brass pieces. My gut tells me it isn't plated, but it's possible it is. Any advice would be appreciated. There's no sentimental value to it or anything, just a little project I've had lodged in the back of my mind for years. Also advice on what to do with the wood would be appreciated.

1) Unless it's of great sentimental value, you might look for some youtube videos on pocket knife restoration and give one a shot. How far

2) you go is up to you, from just shining it up a bit to replacing the scales. If you'd be crushed if the restoration didn't turn out how

3) you hope, though, you might be better off finding someone to restore it for you. Might cost you more than a new knife, though.
