Sammie hangs around the lobby of the building where my therapist has an office. I've seen her a couple times but never met her before today.

Going to see my therapist every week gives me quite a bit of anxiety, even though I usually feel much better afterwards for a few days. I have PTSD and she is helping me work through it to lessen my symptoms.

I've had a rough patch lately.

When I came in today Sammie came and just sat next to me. She let me pet her, kiss her, and scratch her chin. If I stopped, she just put her head in my lap and looked at me with those sweet brown eyes.

It was exactly what I needed today, and I thought you guys might like to meet her too.

Thanks Sammie <3

For what it is worth, PTSD doesn't have to be forever. I went to therapy for mine as well. It made all the difference. Good luck with it.

I've only been going for 8 weeks and it's made a huge difference so far!

Within a year i felt i was more in control of myself than the PTSD was. A huge part of that was me really working at it. Though it's /3

Don't lose hope if you feel like you back track at some point. You get this initial: it's working and so great! Then, for me, i stopped /1

Making as much progress and it felt like i was back tracking. Then you pull out of that. Just keep trying, keep working. You'll make it /2

Different for everyone. So don't take my experience as the way it should be! /4
