We have to leave in about an hour, husband has to get his hip replaced. I'm not worried about the surgery, the doctors say everything is great and he is ready to go. My issue is he is a DRAMATIC person. Last time we went to the hospital, he had kidney stones, and it was so bad the nurses even told him that if he didn't shut up with the wailing and screaming, they were gonna write down drug seeking behavior. I have literally told him if he was in a fox hole he would have just got everyone killed. ( ex military ) he is that dramatic. The kind of dramatic that works best with an audience. I'm so tired of his antics. he doesnt even try to deny this shit anymore when i call him out of it. 6 weeks, I get to deal with it non-stop ya'll. My therapists knows about it, my psych knows about it. Even my regular GP knows I'm worried about about it. I'm honestly not sure how I'm going to handle this. I'm not exactly in a good place mentally. I get over stimulated easily and shut down. I'm stressed.

Edit:
I love my husband. He is a great provider, and excellent father and all around a good guy. He is just DRAMATIC as hell and I get super tired of it.

lol. sorry. when I had mine replaced, the pain was less of an issue than the plain old not being able to use it.

My wife is a nurse and familiar with the type. She has patients casually scrolling on their phones but reporting pain to be a 9 out 1/2

of a 10 scale. Yours seems like a severe case though. He’s breaking the guy code.

Sounds like you and your kids should take a 6 week vaccation while he gets meal delivery so he don't gotta cook.

I may have given you the wrong impression. I wanted to give you hope that things might not be that bad w/ your hubby. however...

bear in mind that I have a high pain tolerance & Drs who knew it & *insisted* I dope myself to the gills regardless

also, some people legit have a lower pain threshold and lower pain tolerance. there could be a physiological reason for hubby's reactions.

Nope. Believe me when I say I wish there was a reason. Because then I could at least rationalize it. He has a history of dramatics. 1/2

He went to the ER at 3 a.m. because of an ingrown thumb nail. Throwing a hissy fit because they made him wait. Drama.
