This picture is here mostly to get your attention.
I don't have cleavage to show you, so Sita enjoying the sun on my porch will have to do.

This was me a year ago. 211 pounds (96 kg) and in a relationship that while it had a lot of ups, definitely had it's downs as well. About half a year after this picture was taken the relationship fell apart, and to be honest I felt kinda lost.
I was 47 years old, and suddently the life I thought I would have wasn't going to happen. The break was kinda amicable, but there were complicating factors, and at new years I told her I needed to go no contact to get some peace of mind. We haven't spoken since.

I suddently found myself with a lot more spare time than I'd had in years, and not a lot to fill it with. So, I decided I might as well work on myself, both physically and mentally. I continued therapy, and the break up really showed me that I have some amazing people around me. My friends totally stepped up and were there for me all the way. I feel insanely grateful to have them in my life.

I have a new dog that, while needing a lot of care and training for her anxiety, is totally awesome. Sita and I tried Barn Hunt for the first time yesterday, and I think this will be a great activity for us. Being 75% Border Collie, she really needs to use her head and be active, so this seems like a good fit.

Being only responsible for myself, keeping a good diet and exercise routine is a lot easier, and I am currently sitting at 180 pounds (82 kg) with no loss of muscle mass. Quite the opposite in fact. Not nearly as impressive as some of the posts I've seen here, but I'm happy with the progress.

I'm in a much better head space and have started picking up some of my old hobbies that were put aside during the relationship, and I've also started writing a book.

And... tonight I have a date with a woman that is so way out of my league that it's not even funny. So there's that. No idea if it will go anywhere, but just getting my feet wet again feels great.

PS: Sorry about the dirty mirror. It's cleaner now...

If you've read this far, thank you.
Sita and I will keep going and see where the path takes us.
I'm sure it will be somewhere both interesting and fun!

The hardest step to take on a thousand miles walk is the FIRST one... seems like you've already taken it. Good luck !

Great job OP, I had the same thing happen to me at the same age. My honey decided he was better off without me, so, after too many months of sadness, I picked myself up by my pink panties and got my life back, physically, emotionally and spiritually. I am now a happy single, successful, healthy 55 year old. My ex is not.

Thanks! Also, that sounds great. I'm kinda figuring out more or less the same. I'm quite happy being single, and in no particular rush with anything. Feels great!
