I, wish they had panned down. I got to see the April 2024 eclipse from the edge of Lake Erie, the horizon looks like it's on fire when totality hits

Damn, it was totally cloudy here in buffalo when that happened. It was still an amazing and surreal experience but to see the horizon change color would have been amazing.

I did see a total eclipse past year, and I can confirm that it's a much more impressive experience than any non-total eclipse (those are a bit meh to be honest)

Its so fucking cool that we live on a planet with a moon just large enough and at just the right distance that it perfectly obscures the sun except for its corona. This is such an astronomical anomaly that I don't think we know of any other planets where this happens. Seeing it in person in 2024, even though it was cloudy, was one of the most magical experiences of my entire life.

I saw the partial from NYC today. In 2024, I saw the total eclipse in upper works trailhead in Newcomb New York and it was magical.
