Partially ceremonial officer armor of the royal guard. By partial I mean it's still functional against all melee weapons, against guns though? Not so much. Similar to Cuirassiers at the time in Europe.

Cuirassiers weren't ceremonial, they were European armored/heavy cavalry from the 16th century to the start of WW 1.

I meant their armor. By the 1700's that cuirass is going to do jack shit against anything other than a bayonet.

Yea. There was a famous event in 1914 where the French decided it was time to dismount. Basically 20 cuirassiers attack a single german 1/2

Reconnaissance car with a three man crew and a machinegun. All 20 french cuirassiers died, the Germans didn't even need to stop the car.
