Serious question: Pic unrelated, what if Donald Trump would simply found his own party?
As a european i'm unsure, but you are allowed to found new partys, arent you?
So, if Donald Trump would resign his membership with the Republicans and simply found his own party and run for presidency in 2024, he would have a lot of peoples votes. He would steal a lot from the republicans as not many now Democrats would vote for him. Even if this would not be sufficient for President, he would steal a lot from the Republicans.
So it can only be in the Republicans own interest to impeach him or am i thinking totally wrong and this is not how it works?

US doesn't have preferential voting so Right vote would split. A lot on the right who wouldn't vote for anything but GOP even if it's Trump.

Republicans can't win now without the bias of electoral votes and other tricks like voter suppression so losing more voters would kill them
