I hear you guys like cats. Meet Halyn.

This is Halyn O'Connor. I met her when she was about 5 weeks old. She was stumbling across the street my sister and I were driving down on our way home. We stopped and got out to inspect. We found her mom in the bushes and realized that she was an orphan. There were no other kittens around.
She was missing an eye and her mouth was unaligned. One of her nostrils was almost smooshed closed, too.

I brought her (although I thought she was a he at the time. I apparently don't understand kitten anatomy) home to meet my pupperpops, Castle. Castle doesn't care for other pets. Not in a bad way, just in the way that he ignores them.

But that didn't stop her from crawling all over him! At the time, we decided to call her something based on her missing eye. We couldn't pick between names like Igor, Eric (from Phantom of the Opera), Sniper (shoots with one eye closed), Pikachu (peek-at-you), Pirate... I decided on Finless for a couple weeks, to draw attention to the fact that she didn't have fins instead of that she was missing an eye. I always give pets weird (stupid?) names.

I eventually realized that the kitten was a girl. I decided to change her name one last time. I like to give my pets their own last names, and I chose Halyn O'Connor.
Halyn means: "Unique and special. Unlike any other".
No matter where I was, she would crawl over, up, around just to snuggle up to me.

Halyn dresses up for Halloween every day.

Not a very good one, though.

I don't know what caused her malformations. Maybe a birth defect? Maybe a mean kid? All I know is that I have one of the absolutely most adorable cats in the entire world. She's a little runty, a little derpy, but 100% love.
