I have some tyranid as well, I actually put way way more time into painting and modeling than playing. It's very calming.

This army cost about 2030pts if I don't use crises suites, the drone cloud more than makes up for them, as well as the packed war gear

Some armies need more units to fill up you're ranks, and the more you have to buy of course the pricier it gets. Orks,and Tyranid, are $$$
