There's been an increase in SPA accounts over the past few weeks, mostly new which makes them easy to identify. During the elections you see a lot more purchased/hijacked accounts (you'll notice many are from <= 2012, this is majorly due to the 2013 Imgur data breach). They are. It's why I hunted so many bots and spam accounts on imgur. People give me shit and go: "they're just reposting some memes!" And I kept trying to point out how many either post scams or end up being used for political crap.

Honestly, it's kinda just 14/15 years of being here that I can see a lot of patterns. I used to call out the right wing bots and people helped me a lot. But when I called out the left wing ones people assumed I was evil. There's still a multitude of left wing posting accounts that I've identified from previous bad faith actors but I'm kinda over trying to point out a lot of em. I'm just waiting for that moment to see em post a scam link or something bending the truth a bit too far again.
