#18 Y'all are having days where nothing bad happens?
SirButcher
#1 I am one of the lucky few. I actually like my job and would do exactly the same if I would be unemployed (+ trying to find a job because, yay capitalism :\ )

#29 I assume the joke involves the fact that his math is wrong because the answer is 110? Is there something more to it?

Prepper.
BreakablePotato
Saving this for later to compare against my own list, see if there are any gaps. Also you should have a lighter and a small knife in your pockets. Possibly twine/rope and tape.
BreakablePotato
Ugh, forgot flashlight. Phone lights are terrible and run down the phone battery that you might need.
spontaneous9
Don't smoke so I'm not carrying a lighter b/c there are 2 in the car - 1 in the mess kit & 1 in the driver door map pocket. I keep a Gerber folding knife (6.5cm blade) in my pants pocket at all times, plus there's a mini-Gerber (same knife with a 5cm blade) on my keys, as well as a Maglite solitaire. Tape is in the 1stAid kit, electrical tape & duct tape are in the tool kit. Plenty of sturdy tarp line in the camping gear bucket too, so no problem there. Roll of paper towels, roll of toilet paper

#22 the salting a melon one would have to be a good thing because people actually do that. For some fuckall reason
PirateArrrgument
Salt has some really weird food interactions when used in tiny amounts. It can alert taste receptors to be more sensitive of sweetness while suppressing bitterness when used on watermelon. A very light amount of salt (like 5-6 grains, do not overdo it) in coffee grounds just before brewing it generally cuts out bitterness in the coffee because it somehow neutralizes rancid coffee oils. Salt is really weird.
TheFastpaws
I mean I salt Granny Smith apples. It brings out the sour.
reichstein
Maybe they salted her melons without asking for permission first?
webbiemoo
Sweet + salty = yum. Might I point out a missing example of this that no one fusses about? Margaritas
BagOfPrayers
It weirdly brings out the natural sweetness of the melon more than putting sugar on it does, as long as you don't overdo it. Just a tiny bit is needed
sometimesarobot
Not the people I see doing it, going ham on that
BagOfPrayers
nero4ty2
You salt a tomato right? Why not salt a melon? Salt is a flavor enhancer, if it tastes salty you put on too much
sometimesarobot
I don't eat tomatoes (texture issue), but salt on watermelon just seems wrong.
psugab
It's also good to add a pinch in ice cream
VolcanoHerder
I salt savory tomatoes to enhance the flavor. I don't feel the need to change the flavor of melons, certainly not with salt.
JustTheCats
A little salt actually brings out the flavors of the watermelon even stronger. Salt is a flavor entrance, not just a savory flavor enhancer. It's just a bit - not enough to taste salty, but just enough to bring out the brightness in the watermelon

#29 was one that bothered me the first time I read it, purely because I see so many of those questions like "if you can solve this you're a genius" for basic math. Then finding out what the answer was indeed 5! and I just don't know enough math.
At least these days I can feel a little more enlightened
cyclone0619
What bothering me is that isn't the answer. Math has an "order of operations" starting with parentheses then exponents then multiply/division (from left to right) then addition/subtraction (again left to right). So 230 - 220 x 0.5 = we would do the multiplying first 220 x 0.5 is 110 so we're left with 230 - 110 = 120. Am I the only nerd bothered.
phatputer
Except that is the joke, and 5! Is the answer 5 is not, but 120 also is
LiquorishSunfish
.... What is five factorial, aka "5!"?
GandalfTheTeal
You're not enough of a nerd if you're bothered. The answer is 5!. 5! is 120.
RedPipe
Thanks, Gandalf
RedPipe
No, I came down here to find out what the joke was, but seems it's just dumb.
RedPipe
Wait hang on I just figured out the joke is that the answer is "5!"which means 5x4x3x2x1=120 😠😠😠ðŸ˜
zorroboracho
#29 well, you’re right about one thing
LaLechuga
5-factorial, 5! = 120.
Nep51
I'm not getting it and that's bothering me. Maybe it's a joke I don't get since I'm not an native English speaker. For me, it's just basic maths wrongly executed.
Temzilla
5 = 5, but 5! = 1*2*3*4*5 = 120.
Nep51
Wow!
itsthevoiceman
all of these little internet maths posts are done in a way that is poorly executed, which then creates a ton of engagement.
Temzilla
The joke here is that the answer is 120, and 5 factorial (notated as 5!) is 120, and also if you just do the math incorrectly, it's 5.
Neednoggle
#47 not true. I ALWAYS have lip balm.
GravyEducation
Spectacles, testicles, wallet and watch. And also your backpack with all the essentials like deodorant, 1st aid, snacks, and hair product I keep cuz I always wake up and shower at the last minute then drive. And also we have the fifth secret pocket for lighters and such. Oh and there is *so* much shit in my car boot and glove box.
