He started talking politics, and said lots of hispanic community voted trump for a) the alpha male appeal, b) each Hispanic grouo thought trump would go after other groups but not theirs. So Cubans thought he'd go after mexicans and Guatemalans, mexicans thought he'd go after puerto Ricans snd cubans. Then he gets elected and goes after them all. And the driver said it was obvious this would happen, but their pride made them beleive a lie they created.

It was a two-prong campaign. They started the incel / alpha male movement. Get a bunch of guys feeling downtrodden, tell them it's not them but everyone else, etc, etc. Then they started campaigning trump as the "alpha male" candidate. Russian bots and others would post pics of him during covid going "so manly!" Trump's natural misogyny catered to the movement more than any machismo, b/c alpha males were really about repressing women.
Machismo culture (and toxic masculinity in general) requires a certain amount of stupidity and self-centered thoughtlessness to buy into... if you're not raised in it.
Unfortunately, being raised in it means that the above qualities are spoonfed to you from birth. When much of society arounds you holds it up as the behavior of the ideal man, it can be tough to escape it. Kind of like being born into a cult.
And tons of societies still raise a lot of their male kids that way.
Was working in Home Depot before the election and 3 or 4 generations of a family came in to talk about something to do with ordering doors or windows, all of them in all their trump paraphernalia, and they had a teenager do the talking because I didn't know enough Spanish to understand or answer their questions and most of them didn't have enough English either.
No matter what they suffer, Republicans will keep voting for fascism because it promises white supremacy. A white supremacist christiofascist dictatorship is their objective.
That is the genius of the policy: out of sight, out of accountability. There is no western media following up on stories in Sub-Saharan Africa. The person speaking another language ahead of you in line at the grocery store simply ceases to exist as far as the public is concerned. It works on the exact same principle as voter suppression: if you cast two ballots, you go to jail; but if you convince thousands not to show up, nobody can be held accountable. What stays invisible cannot be measured.
Several African countries have agreed to warehouse US deportees when their country of origin refuses to allow them back in. They get paid handsomely with American taxpayer money and supposedly house (imprison?) them in migrant centers like this complex in Rwanda ↓, but no one follows up on what actually happens to them. For all we know they're unceremoniously killed and buried in mass graves, or forced to perform slave labor, or have their organs harvested.
I mean, why would countries with a severe housing shortage build nice and modern new housing for foreigners? Countries that are so xenophobic that different local ethnic groups genocide one another? This really looks like countries are getting paid to quietly dispose of people who the current US regime considers undesirable. Without anyone wanting to know how exactly they go about this. Out of sight, out of mind. Capitalism outsorces everything to cheap labor countries, even a Holocaust.
