Looked at the thumbnail and thought it was another cards against humanity.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My grandfather helped design the tail section of the space shuttle. :)

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So...you know that shuttle explosion in 2001 was because a heat tile was missing...when did your grandfather work there?

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Those tiles are neat! Hit it with a blow torch and it will still stay cool to the touch.

12 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I thought the tiles were coasters.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hi! My grandpa worked on the ISS!

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unrelated: I have the same bedspread as you OP.

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'd wear the fuck out of that jacket

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Best i can do for all this is 5 bucks

12 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Wow, that is really cool stuff OP.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd rock the fuck out of that jacket. Its legit

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How much for the jacket?

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good thing he didn't work on rockets with a white jacket and red graphics.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That jacket is a hipster's wet dream.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My grandfather also knows how to purchase things on eBay.

12 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 6

prove it

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't know if I've ever wanted an article of clothing so bad.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

At first I thought it was another cards against humanity post.

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

your grandfathers job was out of this world!

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Your grandfather is awesome, the highest of fives to you sir

12 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 6

you don't know that, he could be an asshole for all you know.

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 9

You know, if he hadn't taken those tiles, the Challenger wouldn't have crashed

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I'm really awful at parties, the social anxiety is real :/, but the challenger disaster was caused a by a faulty joint on an SRB, not tiles.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Crashed? Like, its shards and fragments crash into the ground, after it exploded in the air?

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Plot twist- He got you & you're an alien.

12 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 1

At first I read NSA and thought "Of course they gave him a foil hat"

12 years ago | Likes 458 Dislikes 1

Oh snap, me too! .....My tinfoil hat clearly isn't working well enough.

12 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I think it's because you need gold foil, not tin foil. Either that, or some gold looking metal foil. Don't want to get foiled here.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You should use tin foil wrapped in aluminum foil

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I read NSA too, and thought "Of course they sabotaged the shuttle heat shields."

12 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 2

We did no such thing

12 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You would say that though. 'pulls tinfoil hat further down'

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My dad works at NASA also. I thought I was one of very few people that owned shuttle tiles. Probably still am, but it's still neat.

*After an internship at NASA

12 years ago | Likes 249 Dislikes 7

Sick reference bro! Dot gif?

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Was an intern for two different NASA centers and all I got was a shirt and kicked out during the government shutdown.

12 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

WE'RE STARTING THOSE THINGS AGAIN?!?!

12 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

If we are, just know that

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Cherish that jacket forever

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Makes me sad how much money we dump into all sorts of things, yet something as amazing as space has been left behind in funding.

12 years ago | Likes 671 Dislikes 12

same with ocean exploration. we only know about 5% of it!! need to fund nasa and ocean projects stat

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Guess I'll just go rewatch cosmos....

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's because of bad marketing. If we think there are aliens to "liberate" out there. We will spend any amount of $$$ to get out there.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

There are countless boundaries to space that the theoretical physicists need to work out before we can start launching people into it.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

what if we just got rid of money :D then we can afford it all

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Most white elephants are fronts that fund the secret space program.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

i hope some white elephants help us make it to uranus

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe it's because we know what's really out there.....

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

it seems as if the US opted for the domination victory rather than the science victory

12 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

We were doing well towards a cultural victory, but someone decided to change that.

12 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The Liberals have entered the game

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

But at least we send 3 billion a year to Israel. Perpetuating the suffering of the Palestinians is better than space, right? :(

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Well it looks like that asteroid is going to take out North America & send the planet into an iceage, but FUCK that was a good football game

12 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 4

Hehe - bu tfuck :P

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

As a teacher... I'd like some more money poured into my feild so we can create students who are bright enough to continue space travel!

12 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 5

oh look, the teacher with the wrong spelling.. Yeah more funding needed

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 9

To be fair, if they're a math teacher, math isn't heavy on spelling.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

or mobile user typing on an itty bitty screen

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Easy there chief, leave the creating to the parents.

12 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Whoa there buddy! I think you mean leave the creating up to God.

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 10

Well, this comment was supposed to be taken as a joke...oh well. I don't need fake internet points anyways.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wow wow wow there pal why don't we leave all the creating up to Neil DeGrass Tyson

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Didn't you know? We're too busy dumbing down our population and fighting fake wars so that a select few CEO's can have a bigger paycheck.

12 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 6

I support your unpopular comment. I'm Canadian, and we are doing un-Canadian things because Big US tells us to. Like an abused spouse.

12 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Shut up and make my dinner, Canada.

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Okay.

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If I could up vote this more than once I would up vote it all day. Space is literally the one thing I want to see before I die.

12 years ago | Likes 95 Dislikes 4

It's the only thing on my bucket list.

See, no matter how cool that is, I dont think anything can compare to being in zero gravity and floating around looking into the beyond.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was about to say the same thing. Its more seeing space from a different place...

12 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Take a step to the left. More seriously, go camping or find a location isolated from lighting... then look up.

12 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Not that funny man.

12 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 6

Look in

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Eh,

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fucking military....

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 14

Which developed just about all technology used in all space flight. It's easy to dislike the billions that go into military, but hard to...

12 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Deny the amount of r and d that comes from it.

12 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

True, but why in the world do we need the military to do that R&D? Why not pour the money into you know, the people actually going into 1/2

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well to be fair, space is a nothing in comparison. But that's because space is literally nothing for the most part

12 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Except incredible amounts of resources just waiting for someone to fetch them.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

This isn't a videogame, son. Mining space junk is an absurd idea.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Currently economically unfeasible but something we should be working towards...
