My biggest regret of living in this society is that we don't use base 16. It'd be super useful.

(1) It can be divided in halves or multiplied by 2 without making the number weirder, so it's very nice for guessing/adjusting values.

(2) It is a perfect square, so it can be split into "four fours". Counting to four is easy to humans; more than four requires you to think.

(4) When dividing eg. coins in smaller pieces in base 10 you always get this 2.5 jump (2.5 dimes for a quarter, 2.5 0.20€ for 0.50€).
