Nothin' wrong with a powerful, sexy woman.

Looks like a good back workout.

Strong girl! Farm?

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Think of all the farming she could do.

Instead she's just curling all the time.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

To put in perspective, a person can usually curl a barbell at 2X + 20% what they can curl (strictly) with a dumbbell in one arm.

This means Emily can probably do close to 100 lbs. in barbell curls … for reps!

So she like heavy dumbbells? hmmmm

1 week ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Not you dumbbell.

40lbs ≈ 18 kilograms or 2 stone, 10 pounds

1 week ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

Question: how much is a stone in kg?

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

6.35kg

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh yeah because measuring weight in stones is so much more rational.

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

In the UK it is.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Only use Stone to talk about people's weight, really. Most everything else is Kilograms or occasionally, Pounds.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Every unit is based on something completely arbitrary. An lbs was originally based on the weight of 6992 troy grains, and later rounded by Queen Elizabeth I to the weight of 7000 such grains. A kg is the weight of a litre (a cube of 10x10x10 cm or 100x100x100mm ) of pure water.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And by the way, a meter was defined as one ten-millionth the distance from the Earth's equator to the North Pole. A cm is a billionth (a hundredth of a meter) and a mm is a ten-billionth of that (a tenth of a cm). So basically a kg is what a cube of water with sides a 100-billionth the length from the equator to the North Pole weighs.

Don't mean to be rude but she's basically throwing them. Downvote me all you want.

1 week ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 4

Yeah that's not the greatest form. But it's not nothing.

Women that develop cannonball shoulders like that are usually on performance enhancers. Guys and gals on performance enhancers can slop the weights around for gains early on. Eventually they will have to focus on form, negatives, etc to beat plateaus.

Cheat curls are fine to e.g. get through a plateau by pushing slightly further. Form is important but less so here. Also she's doing fine work controlling the negative and most importantly, she's doing something proper, instead of curling tiny 80s aerobics dumbbells for 65 reps.

Yolked dude here, yes it's really bad form whether for size or strength.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

She's Not Curling 40 Pounds !!! Those Weights Are KILOGRAMS !!! So It's Less Than 40 Pounds !!! - magas.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

If it was 40 kg, it would be MORE pounds, not less. 1kg is about 2.2 lbs. 40 kg is about 88 lbs. See pics posted below by @Sidewaysgts

Fwiw this guy was basically making a joke at MAGAs expense.

she is impressive...but is it good to rock back and forth to keep the momentum or can that hurt your back- or is it an indication that the weights may be too heavy for the curls- or is that normal form- I don't know- I do not work out, but my son does- all the time, curling weights ,and pull ups in the house- so want to know.

1 week ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 5

She'd get more out of it if she wasn't swinging them, form matters for workouts but this isn't really a workout. I do my curls with a band and weights as i find it's actually hard just to engage my biceps with free weights, I find all the wrong muscles insist on getting involved otherwise.

Stricter form has its place, but when you plateau, or just want to increase your weights a bit of cheating initially is OK, you just want to get back to strict form after you can do a full couple of sets... And assuming she's healthy & injury free she'll be just fine like that.

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I hate being that guy but her feet aren’t squared up and that bugs me. One foot forward like that, the swinging, and about rep 8 you see she’s struggling.

Set your feet, don’t swing the weight, and use an appropriate weight that you can complete the full set with proper form. This was filmed for vanity, not to “check her form” or whatever the flimsy excuse usually is.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Its fine. There have been actual studies of this and it works just as well as strict form. And...the little bit of swaying she's doing is pretty far from cheating.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

She’s swinging a bit but she’s keeping her back and everything else aligned so she’s definitely getting something out of it.

1 week ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

No.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She's swinging the weights a bit and the whole movement lacks control. This is an Ego lift. Some amount of movement for a standing curl is acceptable, but she should lower the weight and reduce the speed of the movement to get an actual good contraction of both bicep heads. But I'm sure her videos aren't about proper form to begin with.

Right, there's no way she could do that much weight on a preacher bench. That immobilizes everything else btw.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You're right, but preacher curls and standing curls are 2 different things. Pretty much everyone can do a heavier weight with standing curls than they can with preacher curls. That being said, yeah she could definitely have better form here.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

thanks, that what I thought...I just do yard work and home repairs- no time for working out, but my son is into the stuff.

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Just keep him off the gear (PEDs) and peptides and he'll be alright. Even what's shown here isn't egregious, but is definitely poor form.

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

he plays lacrosse and was into wrestling and boxing, bit isn't into that- he will do lacrosse and int he off season rugby 7s and cross country. He does a lot of curls, but mostly situps push ups and pull ups...

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

came here to say this too. bad form, doing it the easy way, super lame. It's like celebrating those wierd limp back pushups and being like "i am SUPER STRONG!!"

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You could argue that the small forward momentum from the rocking is reducing stress at the joint from the locked down elbow position. A lot of gym technique is 1/3rd science, 1/3rd tea leaves and 1/3rd "yeah, that works for me.".

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I see a lot of really big people at the gym doing something similar. I'm guessing they're doing something right?

Personally, if I'm training biceps, I want to lift the weight using as much of "only bicep" as possible.

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Muscles do not have the same strength over the entire ROM, so some people use a little bit of inertia to get over that initial bump and then lift normally from there, essentially allowing them to lift heavier weights.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It’s a good way to stimulate the muscle maximally in the strongest ROM and also a good way to make sure you don’t strengthen your weak spots and wind up injuring yourself down the line

Imo I always got as much out of light weight done with control as heavy weights

Only draw back with lifting lighter snd more controlled is you dont get as many injuries

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Agree 100%

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

not getting as many injuries doesn't seem like a drawback to me?

Youre so close!
