And universal healthcare / Medicare For All wouldn't cost a single cent more than the current wasteful system. It would actually save up to $1 trillion per year. There's a lot of resistance but you can only push so far before the government starts literally attacking you. Cops have abducted and murdered people for standing up. The literally just grab protestors and beat permanent disability into them. They fire rubber bullets into crowds causing people to go blind or get brain damage. The US has state sanctioned violence against civil rights activists and has longer than anyone has been alive. An actual political riot would turn into a bloodbath.
