I'm a Carpenter/journeyman electrician/apprentice plumber. Regardless, I have been having a very difficult time finding decent full time work. An old contact called me up today out of the blue and offered me a job! Concrete work with a little of everything else sprinkled in for good measure! And it's a nine month minimum job! Have to travel during the week, but I'll be home every weekend to see my wonderful daughters! Plus I can catch up on my child support!
I'm celebrating with a nice cup of coffee and a good cigar as we speak...or type...or whatever!
All I gotta say is YESSSSSSSSS!!

As a nurse, you should negotiate. I started (no experience) at $31/hr. There's a huge nursing shortage right now. Negotiate for higher!

There's a large shortage in some geographic areas and in some specialties. It isn't universal.

Where do you live? Journeyman electricians make better money than that in the upper Midwest, and there is a shortage of good help right now.

I live in TX...I was making like 32 at my last job. This new one I won't be doing much electric. Yet. Hopefully I will soon though!

I live here in West Texas my dads a journeyman electrician he makes over 27/hr. Started out prolly about 3 or 4 years ago.

Very nice. In TX you need closer to 8,000 hours for that kinda dough. I have just shy of 6,500 hours
