This Gif always annoyed me, His jacket is extremely ill fitted. His tie is crooked, too tight, and mis-lengthened. His shirt’s collar is the wrong size for him, and the way he buttons it makes it look as if he’s never done it before.
And then I came across this!
This makes me extremely happy.
God bless you correct suit man...

RebelJane
Good thing he's not wearing both!
Citragon

find this comment kinda right in the spot

One answer: Harvey Specter
KnightoftheN64
I counter your answer with my own: Barney Stinson
RebelJane
No no no, you are both wrong: James Bond.
mheurtevent1
Which James Bond though?
KnightoftheN64
Well said OP, though I think Bond is more of a tuxedo man than a suit guy.
HereticsAllOfYou
If he's using suspenders, he should wear a vest.
smashmatash
Pourquoi, PlaysWithSquirrels? Is that just suit/suspender protocol or is there a specific reason?
shadowex3
Suspenders are underwear, it's equivalent to showing your boxers/briefs/panties/whatever. Your shirt is underwear as well, technically.
smashmatash
Learn something new every day, thanks!

Like Archipelago said: No. You do not under any circumstances ever button the bottom button of a suit or waistcoat.
archipelago
NO. BOTTOM BUTTONS ARE NOT BUTTONED. the buttons that are buttoned are supposed to be undone when seated though. prevents hollow-chest.
GahBluh
Why not? I've never understood that...
danzafan37
It looks like shit when you sit down and pulls it in weird ways
UserOfNames
THIS.
archipelago
It looks like shit when you're standing too. And every time one moves.
danzafan37
Depends on the button placement but usually, yes, 100%
pokler
When my husband got fitted for his tux, the seamstress told us that you only button the second button if you're in the presence of royalty.
ZombieEinstein
Nope. The "Don't button the bottom button" came about because of royalty.
pokler
Ah yes, that makes more sense!
ZombieEinstein
One of the King Henry-s was too fat to fit in his clothes, so he always wore the bottom button unbuttoned. This became the fashion.
pokler
Ha, interesting! Thanks
ZombieEinstein
Now, you only button the bottom button if you are at a funeral.
shadowex3
No, you never button the bottom button period.
ZombieEinstein
HOWEVER, if you ever travel to Asia, button all buttons (jacket and pocket). It's a faux paux to be "unkempt".
