Yeah, hospice really made a difference... When she went, it was peaceful, in her own bed and surrounded by loved ones.

As a health care professional, a lot of us give hospice workers crap because they don't "use the skills we were taught" but I've 1/2

Instead of trying to "fix" them they try to let their patients have dignity and peace and that is strength beyond what I can provide.

My dads hospice nurse cleaned blood off him after he died so it would be less shocking for my sisters when they arrived and hugged my mom

Best thing you could expect. My grandmother and father went during hospice.... was kind of nice to have them not hooked up to tubes.

They couldn't do an IV for fluids, that's the only thing we wished was different. We knew she was thirsty, but it was too hard to drink.
