F117 is typically used for stealth reconnaissance/strike. F22 is a fighter w/ crazy maneuverability/speed.

The F117 shape is for the sole purpose of confusing radar at the cost of speed/maneuverability/payload. Dogfight no. Kill you silently, yes.

Come on now, 'old' is not how we should to describe the F117. So the F22's got 30 years on it; the Nighthawk is still all kinds of awesome.

30 years? F117 came out around 1983, the first flight of the F22 was in 1997 so really not that far off.

The YF-117's "maiden flight" was 1981, but it was based on the Lockheed Have Blue, which first flew in 1977. Still pretty close to 30
