The Blue Heelers seem more popular, but you can have red and blue pups in the same litter. They are born white.

No problem! His momma is actually a blue heeler, not a red heeler but since he is mixed with golden he turned out red.

I know pure heelers can get deafness and blindness later in life so I'm wondering if the mix will help prevent that. Time will tell.

You just have to teach them. It is instinctual (on the heeler's side) to chase and nip at heels. That is how they herd.
