The aim

Having a 100 year old house means nothing fits. Nothing is standard. And everything has to be custom made. The original to stand didn't fit in this house. And the TV was always looking like an afterthought. My son agreed.

Cleaned out the area. And wall mounted the TV. Yes it's bloody level!!!

Started to frame out the cupboard. Gap in far support for cables. The right hand side for wood storage. I wanted to have place for the Xbox and computers as well.

The dog wasn't pleased I wasn't taking her for a walk.

Forgot to take pictures of this part. But I built the top piece in one go. Checking sizes for Virgin box and computer. One solid piece on the right hand side for the wood storage. Added trim around the doors and then hung the cupboard doors.

Still needs to be painted and some filling and sanding. But not bad for a Sunday's work. For those interested. I did this with a £40 table saw. A skill saw would have worked just as well. And I did use a skill saw a lot. A jigsaw. A screwdriver and an impact driver. The driver was unnecessary. But I love mine so I use it every chance I get. A little bit of glue. A few clamps and that's all. It's made of 12mm MDF. And 2 2x4's that I ripped in half for the supports. I had led strip left over from a previous project and added them in as an afterthought by cutting a groove to recess them into.
