My apologies in advance for a potato camera... So I moved into this place about four months ago and couldn't find a use for this low closet that takes up the space under the stairwell in the hallway outside my apartment. It's about seven feet deep and just under three feet wide.

Just a hobbit door, right?

Alohomora! The door opens!

After cleaning, hanging up some cheap lights, and throwing some pillows down, I have a fully functional secret pillow fort. Fuck yeah. If you want to find me, I'll be here with some comic books and chocolate milk.

EDIT: No, there were not any spiders/roaches/bugs in there when I initially opened it after four months of not wanting to even bother looking. It was mildly dusty, but a vacuum and a Swiffer fixed that! I also have a small fan in the corner to circulate air out the door while it's occupied. Success!

This is awesome

That's a POTATO PANTRY!

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Damn, Harry Potter lives in style theses days.

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Watch out for spiders!

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Any ventilation? Cuz it looks warm in there.

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes, I have a small fan in the corner and leave the door open while I'm in there :)

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fuck fort

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

10/10 would lock Haley Joel Osment in there

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Would make this a reading room without a doubt

12 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Definitely a reading nook!

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Coraline?

12 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I've never needed a tiny closet door until now

12 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Is it just me or would anyone else be too claustrophobic to actually go in there to just hang out. I would just put some storage in it.

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Did anyone immediately think of Coraline when they saw this?

12 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Yes :P

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Woah front page! <3 Yes, I do keep the door open and I have a tiny fan that keeps air circulating in there.

12 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

How old is your house? That looks like a potato pantry to me. It was modified (shouldn't be that big) but that door screams potato pantry.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I like potatoes a lot, but I dunno that I like them enough to give them their own pantry...

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's an apartment building that's probably about forty years old. I'm not entirely sure.

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I would like to hot box there please

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ever watched Coroline? I would never open that door!

12 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I have one of those! It leads into our roof. I wana strap a GoPro to my cat and send her in there so I can see what's up there.

12 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

No, you don't. That seems like the premise for several horror movies.

12 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Build a small shelf in there for holding drinks

Such claustrophobia

12 years ago | Likes 128 Dislikes 3

Ive always thought small (but not to small, i need to be able to turn around etc) are cozy. I miss when i was little and could fit into more

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a fellow claustrophobic, NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE.

12 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Don't worry, I always keep the door open while I'm in there. It gets stuffy otherwise.

12 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I'd need to take 2 Xanax. I had to take one for just looking at it.

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Was looking for this comment. I'd have to keep the door open just to feel alright.

12 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

I'd keep it open just to BREATHE. Not enough air circulation in a room that tiny.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not only that, but it would get hot as fuck. Good for cold winter, but not the rest of the year.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

10/10 would lie in there with my head sticking out of the door

12 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Too afraid of what could happen to feet/body in an odd tiny room under the stairs...

12 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Hmm...touche

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So anxious just looking at it.

12 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Me too and I don't even have claustrophobia.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Little doors freak me out. I always imagine some scary goblin hiding inside in some dark scary room.

12 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Like an oubliette!

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

plot twist: OP is a scary goblin

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There made for your house elves. Like dobby

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Have you come out of it yet?

12 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yes, I had classes today :(

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hate to be the one to ask, but...what about spiders?..

12 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

After not opening the door since I moved in, I am happy to say I didn't find any spiders/roaches/bugs in there. If I had found a roach (1/2)

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

this would have never happened. (2/2)

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yay! I'm glad! :) that makes it even better!

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I bet the Dursleys thought this would be comfy too.

12 years ago | Likes 395 Dislikes 1

First thing I thought of, too :)

12 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I was looking for the Harry Potter reference and I've found it.

12 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

You can never trust people with tiny closets. I had to make sure we all remembered.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@thesarahpowellexperience Not to cringe worthy, eh?

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If I said no then you'd be right, so I'm going to say yes it is cringey!!

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do I have to sew buttons in my eyes if I wanna stay?

12 years ago | Likes 784 Dislikes 1

Sick reference, bro!

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Perhaps, and you may encounter a talking cat.

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Look, do you want to stay or not? Stop asking questions, just do it.

12 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

FUCKING CORALINE. That shit is not a kids movie.

12 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

i know it totally freaked me out but the book was even worse

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It was actually my favorite childhood book. I used to read parts to my little cousin to scare him.

Neil Gaiman wrote the book, based it on a bedtime story he told to his daughter.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My claustrophobia would kick the fuck in.

12 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 3

In more than one way.... HIYOOOOOO!

12 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Is it weird that I feel really comfortable\ in small spaces? Not so small that I can't move, but quite a bit smaller than the average room.

12 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I do that to! I have anxiety so whenever I'm having a panic attack I try and fine some really small place it makes me feel safe.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, it makes sense because small enclosed area usually = safety, particularly if familiar

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I believe the term is "cozy"

12 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

That's it. My sleep-deprived brain is lacking in words tonight.

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Excuse you, that is a cuddle room. You go read, listen to music, and cry there by yourself, not have sexy sex.

12 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

Or at least, I would because I'm chronically alone.

12 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

No, you go there with your SO and cuddle, no need for sex it would make it smell disgusting, you can have sex in the bedroom.

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

read this as "makes your brain shit out gummy bears." Really changed the meaning for me.

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Those aren't 'low fat', they're sugar free. It's the sugar substitute in them that makes everyone so sick.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

wouldn't those in turn be...fat free?

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It doesn't make you sick, it improves your digestion by rapidly and forcefully increasing your elimination.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I consider extremely painful cramps and projectile diarrhea 'sick'.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
