The note one the side is great too. He’s in town here in Austin for SXSW. If you’ve never had Gus’ fried chicken, it the best in the world!
Way to go Chad! Thanks for being so generous to a fellow Austinite!
MakingplansforNigel
Hell yeah Gus’s is legit
kgkid
Is nobody going to point out that the tip recommendation is wrong? 20% would be $7.68...
Kabibble
That was discussed, so yes we did point it out. However I think the conclusion was the calculated tip is based on the pre tax subtotal
PCskele
That signature though
lacarpitrondookmarriot
Looks like his pen ran out of ink.
mogarth
Wait, I though Gus was in Albuquerque?
adamant
Yea when I used to wait tables the computer would ask us to verify tip amounts. I feel like it would have had a problem with that %.
TheNameYouLoveToTouchButYouMustntTouch
‘I love you’...who is this guy! That’s adorable as hell.
CrabbyRangoon
It bugs me that the math on the suggested percent values for the total is incorrect. The tip values are less than the actual math.
RandomGuy12345678910
You don't tip on the taxes. The calculations are on the pretax amount
Bdtry
Good to know, I was like wtf is going on here.
jwbc843
I wish I was rich and could do stuff like this. Waiting tables sucked!
talenphillips
The food service industry is its own special kind of hell.
beastofburidan
Same. Yet, it’s no wonder many athletes end up broke.
TokyosNotFarEnough
Gus's is amazing!
seedye
And the waiter’s full name is printed on it. Ryan R Secure Pay. Way to dox a guy, @op.
seedye
Which reminds me of the receipt I got from a grocery store: “Your checker was GAY.” All caps: GAY. Because that was her name.
Kabibble
SandyAnakin
Child, please!
iamthisguy247
Wait, his last name isn’t actually Ochocinco?
Kabibble
It used to be, he changed it back
Muunk
Ocho = 8. Cinco = 5. His jersey number was 85.
iamthisguy247
Yeah I was mainly joking because people never really called him by his real name.
Muunk
No, no. It's SPANISH for his jersey number. Get it?
rebelhead
Why 540?
pixiechickrocks
I love Gus's
16sosspectre
receipt suggests 18 or 20% tip. Pay your help even min wage. I usually tip over 20% but won't go back to any place that helps with math
samtheoneca
I have 2 players from the Toronto Raptors that we deliver to. One always says "I don't tip bro" The other tips $2. Both make over $3 mil
Ca53y
Pls shame them
somethingslightlyclever
Which ones? The world should shame these ass hats
samtheoneca
If I did and it became big it would be too easy to figure out where my store is and who I am. Wouldn't be good for business
somethingslightlyclever
Um...yes it would and your tips would get much better. Also this is bigger than your job
samtheoneca
Shaming customers generally isn't good for business. Since I'm the GM, while I love when my drivers make money. The store comes first.
samtheoneca
And also, a couple rich guys being cheap isn't the end of the world. Definitely not worth losing a job over.
BaxterTheMiniatureBuddha
Shame, shame, shame, shame, etc.
DizoMarshalTito
Shame them. Please.
shadetee
If the company is already charging a fee, I think it's fully justified. There should be no expectation of tip when there's already a fee.
somethingslightlyclever
There is actually. The fee goes to the business, not the person.
shadetee
Then that's between the business and employee to work out their wage. I've already paid for the service.
AstroExplained
Ugh...SXSW...I know it can be some fun, but man...the increased traffic....
botanicalbob
Hayyyy! Austiniteee :) and yes the fried chicken is delicious !
SendMeOxygen
How dedicated do you have to be to get a name like Ryan R Secure Pay?
BigBuckeyeDaddy
Chad's brash but a good guy. Would have been awesome if he and AJ played during same era. Who dey.
ccgawesome
Gus’s is the best. Now if only he came to my bar while he was in town for SX. Sigh.
Metallicat70
85
KingTonTon
In his defense, Gus's is amazing. 2 opened in LA and they are the bomb
GadenKerensky
As an Australian, it bothers me the receipts have a dedicated 'tip' line printed on them.
TheRealFameus
Gus’s isn’t even the best fried chicken in Austin.
MyKillEdWord
Lol. I love hearing about famous Rappers and Athletes blowing all their money on stupid shit like this.
Kabibble
Go away troll
Reelthreat
Awesome, congrats on the tip... you must've done great. I love Gus' I eat there every couple of months when I am downtown.
ProbablyYourBoss
How much do ya tip?
Reelthreat
I start at 20% minimum.
Kabibble
It wasn’t me, though that would be nice!
Reelthreat
Didn't catch the fellow part... well, congrats to your fellow Austinite, lol.
MobiusStripClub
"I only had 570 yards in 2008 because I pissed Mike Brown off!"
TheGreyAreaOfWarCrimes
540, to correspond with the tip amount
hellaphat
540
MobiusStripClub
Lucy's is better
brknsoul
18% of $38.43 is $6.92, not $6.39. 20% is $7.69, not $7.10. (even factoring in Austin's sales taxes of 8.25%, the numbers are wrong).
somethingslightlyclever
It’s because the suggested tip doesn’t factor in tax.
brknsoul
I said that. The numbers are wrong with or without sales tax.
Merrigan917
38.43/1.0825=35.50, the subtotal. 18% of that is 6.39, 20% is 7.10. Math seems right.
p3culiar15
This. But I noticed many of restaurants use total (after tax) instead. It make no difference for small amount but it does for larger amounts
brknsoul
Oops.. I mathed wrong. My bad. I'm glad Australia doesn't tip.
Manson666
Nope, merchant service won't accept this transactions since there's a limit that you can actually tip.... False attempt.
Kabibble
Only some banks limit the tip amount and I’ve never read anything saying it’s a specific amount. You or I have no way of knowing if it went
Manson666
? Dude trust me, I'm working for a huge merchant service company and trust me, this shit ain't gonna fly, few days later they will dispute
Kabibble
I choose to believe that not every service company is the same and does what yours does.
