Cooper is very excited to be on the front page! Many of you have asked for the story behind the post. I will say that the relationship was tumultuous to put it mildly and things escalated when I announced I was leaving. I was pushed to the floor and that was when Cooper stepped in. Coop grabbed him by the pant leg and threw him to the ground and then dragged him away from me. It scared my ex enough to stop the altercation and allow me to leave with my dog. Cooper didn't leave a mark on him.

I got Cooper on Halloween of 2009. My family breeds rotties and he was the runt of his litter. Yes weighing in at 150 he is the smallest of his siblings!

Since then Cooper and I have lived in many places including Italy! Cooper has his pet passport and we have been on many exciting adventures together.

A warning to anyone thinking of getting an extra large dog....their airfare is NOT CHEAP.

We now live in TN where Cooper is free to roam the woods and swim in nearby lakes. He is the first rottie I have met that LOVES water. He would swim all day if I let him.

I recently adopted his niece, her name is Lana and they are the best of friends. He also loves my 2 cats, Kitkat and Toothless.

My family has owned more than 30 rotties over the past 2 decades and not a one has turned out aggressive. I firmly believe it is just in how a dog is raised and trained. Rottweilers are very smart but can be stubborn at times so training is time consuming. They become very attached to their people and you will never find a more loyal friend.

Gahhhhhhhhh THAT FACE!! <3

I always say "You're a good boy" to my dog because I don't want to cause an existential crisis of him wondering who is

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

I wanna pet his neck fat so bad.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Glad to hear you're both doing well!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You would have to be one dumb SOB to abuse the owner of a rottweiler.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

You better give him lots of treats! Beautiful pup!

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Goddamit! I need a rottie in my life! Not bc of an ex but bc I loves them.

Excellent informative post. More rottie posts needed :D (also, glad you're ok, @op)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had a rotty, very loving dogs. The ferocity people here about them is usually the result of them protecting their family.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Have the same type of dog, mother calls him "Balto" I call him " Cerberus"

9 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

So you call him Cerberus because your house is the entrance to the underworld right?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Well yes and he is a big fucker (probably has 2 more hidden heads inside that gigantic head of his aswell)

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Have you tried sticking your head in his mouth to take a look? :)

I love German dogs. I was planning on getting a Doberman when I get my own place

9 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 1

Germany just excels at everything

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had a dobie. Best dog I ever had. Loved my cats and my children and protected them as if they were his own babies.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The best German dogs are Great Danes. Actually, they're just the best dogs.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As far as German dogs go, you could also go with a Boxer & not have to worry about a hassle from the landlord / neighbors.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

1 Boxers are lumped in with the bully breeds by many people, if you worried about other people hassling you about breed I'd say...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 lab, golden retriever, Doodle, or anything small like a beagle, corgie, cocker or king charles, etc etc.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I love my Boxer but we've been trying to train her not to jump up on people for 3 years now...Just be aware.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yea instead you'll just have a 50lb erratic missile in your house.

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

With sudden U turns.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

1 This comment is amazing. Why are all boxers like this? Seriously, I work with dogs and they're all just totally bananas. Lovable, but...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 exasperating.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah. Dobies do, at some point, chill the fuck out. Boxers exist in a perpetual state of zoomies.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Dobies are smart and energetic. They need much training. Love Rotties and Weimaraners. Best German dogs imho.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

1 Weimaraners are beautiful, but almost every one I have met is a a nutball haha. You definitely have to stay on top of training, but that..

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

2 is true for all dogs. Especially true for smart and dominant ones though. You don't want to deal with a ~50lb dog that thinks it owns you.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He's a chunky monkey. I like him.

Chunky Monkey is his brother's name! He is Cooper.

9 years ago | Likes 730 Dislikes 1

I love Cooper!

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

So this guy is the small one? How big is the other one then!?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Cooper is around 150 and Chunky Monkey is 175.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I had to study this pic and comment for a minute as I have a Lab Retriever named Cooper and a Rott named Daisy. Both of whom are chunky.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Awwww I miss my rottie/ lab crosses. Wugi and Hunny. Best dogs ever. They were both chunky monkeys too.

Drug*. The dog drug her ex on the ground and dragged the body away. We don't speak in pasted tense.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I hope your dog didnt get hurt in thr process. I love and hate how selfless our dogs get.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It sounds like he ended the altercation in the most non-violent way possible as well.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A doberman is a whole lot of dog with many large teeth to have to pry off your leg. Bet your ex was shitting himself by the end.

9 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 8

Oh, I don't know about that. I think he was probably shitting himself at the beginning.

Because 2 members of his pack were fighting. If someone from outside the pack tried that, the results might be very different.
