Efficient to heat, large buildings are.
Because land is expensive, living rooms at shortage and building companies have awful lot of money.

Looks someone allready said they were post socialism buildings. I stand corrected.
I don't know man. These look like socialist era buildings. During the industrialisation, they made humongous buildings like those to /1
Socialist era buildings where typically up to 16 stores high. 25 at dawn of Perestroika. This one is more than 30.
Little googling said ЖК «Дом на Беговой» — Хорошевское шоссе, 12с1 was built in 2011.
Create whole blocks, with all the stores you could need.Primary kindergartens, primary schools. You basically didn't have to leave the block.

You'll certainly know their first names by hearing it through the walls whenever they're fighting lol
XenoHorse
You assume other countries build paper thin walls like in the US. :P
I live in Holland and early in the morning, when it's quiet outside, I can hear what my neighbours say.
Granted, they have loud voices and these houses were built in a hurry, just after the war and with reclaimed bricks, but still

You'd have to spend like, a trillion pounds just for the land :D

Plus all the traffic is driving on the right.
With traffic driving on the right? Doubt that.
I mean, it says Moscow in the title so my answer was more of a slap in the face to the person who asked which mega city this was from.

It says Moscow in the title you twat.
Yes, that's why I was saying "doubt it" to the person guessing it's London. Do you always reply to the comment after the one you wanted?

Mine either until I moved somewhere that had an elevator. All of a sudden they were willing to bring it to my door haha
The outer door is locked and pizza guy does not have a code.
Mine was like that too, but could press my apartment number and my phone would ring and I could press 9 to open the door
That apartment complex is like a city. I mean, they should just have their own restaurant with pizza delivery!

at least they are building housing. California needs more housing
packardcaribien
It's hardly that companies are unwilling to fulfill demand for new housing. It's the government stopping them.

Isn’t the problem the rent? Not that there aren’t enough homes? I remember reading that there are more empty homes in america than homeless
But those are socialist houses! Socialist!

Not at all. While they're typical apartment blocks, they're built as standard for people to buy. Almost always you buy a bare brick shell.
It's then upto the owner to lay floor, render walls, install lighting and toilet, door ways etc. It's desired that way.
