My mom has veins that are hard to hit in her elbow so they usually use a butterfly needle on the back of her hand, so she gets these just from blood tests (she's got a mild health condition she monitors. It's not too uncommon in older people, so I wouldn't stake my hopes on it being something that will make him leave office anytime soon.

The obvious one is that no one is going to trust us as a trade partner. They were able to ignore it when we elected him once. They thought/hoped we weren't dumb enough to do it again, but we did. Now, even if we beat him in '26/'28, whose to say we don't elect some other dipshit in 2032?
Then there's all of the research he's derailed. I have no doubt some amount of that was longitudinal studies that have taken years, if not decades, and will have to be started over.

I'm hesitant to give him the benefit of the doubt here. He got called out in it because he believed it to be true. And he doesn't seem to be the type to receive criticism and actively self-reflect. He seems more likely to stick his fingers in his ears and double down. Sure, he's doubling down because he doesn't want to look weak, but I'm saying that I don't think he would internally accept that he is wrong.
