Well made marketing, but fuck that whole idea. I'm not ready to gamble that this stranger wont kill me and take all my stuff.

A neighbor isn’t someone that lives beside you, a neighbor is anyone who has a need that you can fulfil.

My first born uncle is in fact a product of my grandparents bringing a homeless person into their home. She is the nicest person in the worl

I tried something similar once - helped him get a job...he showed up there for a day or two....then came and stole my shit

Turn someone in need away. For example, you could bring them out on the street, absolutely helping to stop someone being abused.
rhubarbpies
But this is stupid
WallyWallyOxenFree
I'd be more impressed if reading the right side without the left was also a coherent message
madelAwwBeast
Women alone? Nope.
Tabrias
Nah that's pretty fucking dumb.
tzxAzrael
Turn someone in need away. For example you could bring them out on the street absolutely helping to stop someone being abused. It's cold and
lonely out there. Young people need a helping hand. A safe, secure space would help. But you could still make a difference.

Aside from the comments about low pixels this should be appreciated

This isn’t an ad advocating picking up random people off the street. It is a program in the UK. Sauce: https://www.nightstop.org.uk

But then they'll lose the initiative to better their lives, just like Jesus said

Myself and my family's safety comes first. Sorry. That's about the end of it.

This ad is for the Nightstop program, they match at-risk kids with a safe place. It's not advocating picking up random homeless people.

I have let this one nice homeless person couchsurf and watch my dog while I was at work for like a whole year. My dog loved it.
I called her my live in dog nanny

There are other ways to help someone than to take care of them yourself.

Do you want to get raped? Because that's how you get raped

Friend of a friends mother brought in a homeless kid. She was killed by ppl looking for him over drugs. Charges didnt stick and they walked1
If you really don’t know how fiendish and inhuman people can be your naive AF. Donate to homeless shelters, don’t do something dumb.2

When I lived on my own I did things like this. Always picked up hitchhikers. Now I have a wife and two small children :/

Hot young homeless people in your area want to fuck!
turtortoise
Hey for real I saw an ad in the classified in my city newspaper that said "homeless man seeking female for live-in fwb.", crazy.
Seems like it would be more effective to drop the homeless part and just fake it till you make it.
OfficialCaveJohnson
I honestly don't think bringing a homeless person you don't know to your home is a good idea tho...

But a random Imgur post guilted me into it

Elizabeth Smart' s kidnapper was a local unemployed man that was hired as a handyman by Elizabeth's father.

I brought home some street kids and they refused to eat, shower or do laundry. They were keen on herb though. Also got fleas from their dog

This is basically the plot of How to Be Good by Nick Hornby. Great read.
masterpierround
Well once you let them live in your home, they aren't homeless anymore, so you have to kick them out. then you're stuck in an infinite loop.
anitabieror6
MANY of the homeless in my area cant get jobs because theyre convicted sex offenders and drug addicts/thieves. so yeah stay out please
Kids with criminal or drug histories are not allowed in the Nightstop program. Its very purpose is to keep the homeless kids away from them.

There was a case recently in the UK where a family took in a homeless guy. He murdered the wife and son and tried to kill the dad :( so sad

And that’s why I won’t do that. I’ll give things like food, toiletries, clothing...but I don’t want to be found diced up in a Hefty bag.

It's admittedly not the same, but I've given probably 100 hitchhikers rides in my life. Some interesting weirdos, but never had a problem.
MetroidJunkie
That's the problem, you have to protect yourself and your family, letting some stranger in could be lethally stupid.
soulman901
I'll let the professionals deal with them. I'd only make it worse for them and have no way of getting them real help

I've done that a few times. Never had an issue

yes, however they post references, an about me, and other info that helps determine they are a suitable guest. There's risk but it's reduced

And there have been numerous serious issues that have arisen from the service
They're pre-screened minors. Nightstop has a great safety record, it's basically like having an exchange student for a night.
No amount of money you can donate will help keep these kids away from sex traffickers, drug dealers, predators, etc. in homeless shelters.
Obviously this isn't for everyone (see: every comment on this post). But sometimes to make real change you have to actually do something.
