Red Tail Boa that died several years ago. I kept the head.
Skinned it, take out organs.
Remove as much meat as I can cut off.
Dry under a fan until it is like jerky. Then it is ready for the flesh eating beetles.
This point it has been 10 Days (my colony was very new and small at that point. Would probably take over night now).
Clean and disinfect in a peroxide solution.
Dry
Holding in place while gluing jaw bones back together.
Aluminum wire, and a baseball display case from Michael's.
Adjusting for fit.
Gluing final pieces on.
Preparing mount.
Used clay to fill the bottom.
Painted clay.
Finished product.

You're really worried about ice crystals forming and making the bone brittle, you can always put it in salt to dry it out for preservation.
