These are the highlight of my day

#1 If I've learned anything from watching British cop shows, this guy's face is probably on a dozen CCTV cameras in the area already.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

#7 100% added like 3 points to the hot scale being able to laugh at yourself

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

#5 is risky and foolish. But he accomplished what he needed to do: get that truck out of the passing lane. He shouldn't have been there holding up traffic.

4 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 6

#7 Her sense of humor just made her hotter.

4 months ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 3

#7 I like her.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#7 Well, she won me over.

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I see someone climb a table to dance, I know they’re about to lose an argument with gravity.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#1 can't park there mate

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's what I came to see!

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#5 That was slick as shit...

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Also unsafe and stupid as shit.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Very illegal, but still confident driving.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It got the job done....safely

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I don't see how #3 fits here.
Looks like a mistake during a reasonably high level sanctioned race.
It happens, why the kid has all that protective gear.

4 months ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 3

Its a pretty dangerous turn setup, as you can see, if you drop a little to low you run into essentially what becomes a wall at speed.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

But that does not mean it counts as an "idiot" move, beyond the blanket view some people have that all extreme sports activities are idiocy. Mistakes happen sometimes, even to the skilled and careful. (Less often, in their cases, but never impossible.)

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

If anything it’s the person who design the course that’s the idiot.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I guess, but it's pretty inline with what's common practise in say motocross.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I think they are going for being an idiot for doing it in the first place type of thing

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

So all competitors in all races featuring a vehicle are idiots, got it 👌

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

You have to admit it takes a bit of idiocy in order to posses bravery

#7 I like her! Is she still single...?

I mean... it's fine, prevent a few thousand damage cost to the car, cuz health care is free in all known civilized countries. As long as he lives. :P (Yes the comment is satire, and sarcasm, except not cuz ya, health care IS free in all known civilized countries :P) but ya seriously, let insurance take the hit on this one, as long as u were not parked illegally I think that would be pretty cut and dry.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

If by "let insurance take the hit on this one" you mean his car insurance — or rather, have his insurance company go after the truck driver and the truck driver's company — then I agree with you.
I mean, with that video, his company has an open-and-shut case, you know?
Unless, of course, he doesn't have car insurance ...

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most... if not all(At least I think they have to) have injury insurance as in 'caused by my driving' so... ya basically what u said.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How is #3 an idiot?

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Why would anyone be on the outside of the car in that situation? How could they possibly think that was going to end well, especially with them ON THE OUTSIDE???

#8 Damage to your car is cheaper to fix than damage to your spine

4 months ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

only in USA

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 13

Why are they booing you? You’re right.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

look, I'm the first to shit talk about the usa healtcare system. As an italian, I feel it's my duty to do so while telling any non red hat to come here if they can.
BUT.
Damage tot he spine aint cheaper nowhere. First of all cuz there are few doctors willing to operate a spine. Secondly cuz you dont only pay in money, you pay in pain too.

4 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Having experienced the pain of a broken (well, crushed actually) vertebra - YES. The money doesn't matter. I would nearly black out from the pain of just getting out of bed

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Not to mention, the risk of internal injuries, which may not show up right away.

#4 The rare clueless self-yeet. Have I done it? Probably. I am, after all, the person who had to seek medical care after mashing the fingers on my left hand while rolling up the windows in my car. Difficulty level: it was a 1990 Camry and had OG, crank 'em yourself windows. (It was a surprise rainstorm, and you had to hold the window in position from the top so it would stay in the track. On a normal window roll-up, I had plenty of time to move my fingers out of the way.)

4 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

“self-yeet”. Hilarious!

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

#8 Hey, kids, can you say internal injuries?

4 months ago | Likes 182 Dislikes 1

The doctor says the bleeding is internal, which is good. That's where the blood is supposed to be.

4 months ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 1

But at least the car didn't get scratched, amirite?

4 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

i mean, it still crumpled like a beer can, but the paint is still good...

Not with a colapsed lung.

4 months ago | Likes 110 Dislikes 0

#2 how the fuck are they not dead?

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Some people are literally too stupid to die

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You can se them slide back into the car before it flips, so they were protected inside during the roll. Just shaken up.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seriously wtf

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How do you know they aren’t?

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#5 my friend don't get it

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

my interpretation: the truck on the left took too long to overtake, so the car passed on the shoulder to get in front of him and force him to brake and merge again, so the other cars behind can pass.

4 months ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

the two trucks were riding side by side in a two lane highway, the left blocking the passing lane for far longer than is allowed
the grey sedan passes them both on the shoulder, but instead of just speeding off and leaving everybody else to the whims of the slow truck, gets in front of the truck in the passing lane and slows down, slowing the truck down and forcing it to shift into the right lane, thereby clearing the passing lane for non slow moving vehicles

4 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I can't say it was wise, but I'd have applauded the guy if I was stuck behind that semi

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

absolutely.. it's one of those things that are technically illegal, but I'd say should be on an equivalent level to citizens arrest for traffic violations.. yes, he was technically doing something illegal, but he was only doing so to stop you from doing something illegal for much much longer affecting many people (depending on the 'passing lane' laws for that area)

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sounded like you were claiming that she was your wife but it's entirely possible I misread your comment. I apologize if that's the case.

Life is too short for grudges lol. No worries, no big deal, and have a great rest of your day, fellow Imgurian. Apologies as well if I came in too hot, I had just woke up and probably shouldn't have replied yet lol

Driver was using the shoulder as a driving lane, then suddenly swerved over, cutting off TWO trucks. And was also driving slower than anyone else in the passing lane, forcing the second truck to move over to avoid rear-ending them.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

the two trucks were riding side by side in a two lane highway, the left blocking the passing lane for far longer than is allowed
the grey sedan passes them both on the shoulder, but instead of just speeding off and leaving everybody else to the whims of the slow truck, gets in front of the truck in the passing lane and slows down, slowing the truck down and forcing it to shift into the right lane, thereby clearing the passing lane for non slow moving vehicles

4 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

truck on the left was doing 1mph more than the truck on the right. that overtake will take ages, and the truck on the right will absolutely not lift the pedal for a few seconds to make life easier for everyone. so the sedan goes for the block.

not the hero we need, but one we deserve.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Two big trucks are going slow and blocking traffic, a little asshole with big balls decides to illegally pass on the shoulder and cut off the one on the left so that others can pass

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm honestly with the car on this one. Truckers blocking both lanes? Move the fuck over

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The little car took a big risk to stop a classic New Mexican Roadblock.

4 months ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 3

I feel like this is too common of an occurrence to give it a regional name. I like the roadblock part though, how about the "rat-bastard roadblock?"

4 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

In Germany we call it elephant racing. When one truck tries to overtake another but is only minimally faster so it takes forever.

4 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Nah, I40 through NM is lousy with them.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

So is CA-99, you ain't special lol

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Eh, not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign is called "California crawl" despite people all over the country doing it.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've always known it as a "California roll" and I honestly couldn't tell you if it was named for the sushi roll or vice versa. Either way, point taken.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is that what it's called? Because it's also about 75% of the drive between L.A. and San Francisco Bay Area.

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I hate that endless stretch of foggy boring farmland with people who JUST WON'T FUCKING MOVE OVER.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's called Elephant Racing.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He's forcing the truck out of that lane where he was blocking traffic, albeit recklessly.

4 months ago | Likes 118 Dislikes 2

He's a hero.

4 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 10

When he does that, there's another truck in front of the truck on the left lane so he can't go faster anyway. He wasn't the one blocking traffic and got dangerously brake checked for no reason.
I wouldn't have the patience to be a truck driver, that guy's car wouldn't have a back anymore with me.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

"Forcing" might not be the correct word here. That little car would be less than a speed bump for the semi

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 36

Yeah, a speed bump that would cost him his job and likely his freedom, even though the car was breaking the law

4 months ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Alright, wasn't really thinking that deep into it when I wrote it.

4 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

what you wrote is perfectly fine, what he wrote was advocating for felony manslaughter or possibly murder

4 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

Idk why people downvote you here? It's not like you're advocating for the truck.

The only one immediately close to dying in that encounter was the car. Secondarily anyone that suffered if the truck(s) overreacted to being cut off.

The car was in the wrong. Are you people insane? The car caused the dangerous situation. The truck caused the annoying situation.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 5

Yeah, the drunk driver was dumb. The car driver was insane. There was no need to put lives at risk to ease traffic.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Truck* driver was dumb

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

to be clear.. the truck was in the wrong first.. period.. blame the car all you want for helping people in a way that is arguably dangerous.. but, he was reacting to the truck doing something that in most states is not just annoying, not just lacks common courtesy, but is entirely illegal...

yes, the car did several things that are illegal as well, but, he reacted to the truck being a complete douchebag to everybody behind him at the minimum, if not somethin completely illegal, which is likely

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

my interpretation: the truck on the left took too long to overtake, so the car passed on the shoulder to get in front of him and force him to brake and merge again, so the other cars behind can pass.

4 months ago | Likes 135 Dislikes 3

Oh! Wow yeah that makes so much more sense. Definitely misunderstood that one on my own

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The hero we need. Fuck that elephant race bullshit.

4 months ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 11

Agreed, however there are cases where they legitimately get stuck in a lane. Slowing down in order to move over is often not a good choice for them bc of how slowly they accelerate loaded, or if they even can when on steeper hills. A truck going 25mph up a hill is risky for everyone.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

The person who downvoted this would absolutely pass a truck on the right thats stuck in the passing lane while complaining about the truck. 😂

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No disrespect to truck drivers. As long as they stay the fuck out of the far left lane.

4 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

I don't know why, but around me they insist on sitting in the middle lane doing 55 in a 65

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That makes sense. Very good then.

4 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

💯

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 5

I'd assume they had to be camping out a while for someone to make that move

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

some people might call that car driver an asshole. i think he's awesome. didn't just overtake and leave, he solved the problem

4 months ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 5

Different trucking companies set their trucks to different max speeds. My old company had theirs at 67 on cruise, 62 on pedal. My current company is 66 on cruise, 65 on pedal.

If I saw someone from my old company trying to pass me, I would back off and let them finish their maneuver, then speed back up. When you see a truck in the left lane taking forever to pass, keep in mind, the slower one on the right is being a massive dick by not just letting him go.

4 months ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 3

However, passing someone doing 3% under your max speed instead of just sitting your ass behind them, when other traffic wants to use the road, is also a massive dick move.

4 months ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 6

That may not seem like a lot to you, but when you're driving 500-600 miles a day, and you are limited by how many hours you can drive before legally having to shut the truck down, the minutes add up. It's not always feasible to just wait until there are no 4 wheelers anywhere on the highway before trying to overtake. We just try to do it as quick as we can.

4 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 6

except he was not, look at the shadows, in the time the car made that maneuver, the truck advanced about about a half tire length in relation to the truck he was overtaking
that is about .125 mph difference.. so he'd gain ONE extra mile every 8 hours at that extra speed

I fully understand that everybody has the right to overtake, nobody owns the road, but that truck was showing absolute disrespect for those behind him by going abysmally slow.. I will not respect people who lack common courtesy

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

ps, I did see your comment about companies governing truck speeds, and that puts everybody in a no win scenario..
it also may be what's going on here, both trucks may have their trucks at full allowed speed, but their speedos are not calibrated the exact same, so where they both see themselves going 65, the right most trucks could actually be going 64.975, with the left at 65.1

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

On an 11 hour shift, it's exactly 11 mile difference assuming you are stuck behind them the whole way. Which is like a 15 minute difference in driving time. Assuming they dont slow to let you pass and there is just that 1mph difference then almost 2 minutes of that 15 minute difference is spent passing the other truck.

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

i will take a slow and annoying tractor over a dumb and reckless sedan any day

4 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 4

Yeah. The people praising the car feel insane to me.

I have never driven a truck.

I have seen what a the inertia of a truck can do though.

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

The camry should have slowed down in front of the right truck, then the left truck would have passed and gotten out of the way.

Most of us don't want to be in the left lane any more than you want to see us in the left lane, and are trying to get past the slower trucks as fast as we can. I don't even feel comfortable driving in the left lane in my Hyundai when I'm on hometime.

4 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 7

Then...don't go into the left lane...

4 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

If there are two lanes, and someone slower is in the right lane, do you think we drive down the shoulder to go around them? Maybe we can jump over them!

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

If they're doing 50 in a 65, and you can get up to speed, do it. But if they're going 64 and you're governed at 65, then you're going 64 until they turn off.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

is there a rule somewhere, that if you're being overtaken by someone doing 1mph more that you, that you absolutely cannot lift the pedal for a few seconds to allow the inevitable overtake to happen more switftly?

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I think the highway code where I am says something like "if you are being overtaken, you should maintain your speed (...)" but I'm pretty sure it's intended to mean "don't speed up when someone's overtaking you, dickhead, and don't slam the brakes on either."
