US Sgt Elizabeth Marks
US Sgt Elizabeth Marks is a medic that suffered devastating hip and leg injuries during a tour of Iraq in 2010.
During her rehabilitation she took up swimming and was offered the chance to represent the US at the Invictus games in the UK in 2014. However whilst in the UK, she became gravely ill and fell unconscious. Doctors at papworth hospital managed to save her life by putting her in an induced coma.
She represented the US again this year in the Invictus games, and caught the attention of Prince Harry!
She won gold in the 100m freestyle and had her medal presented by Harry.
But she called him back
She returned the medal to him and asked if he could pass it to the hospital in the UK that saved her life.
Papworth in Cambridgeshire where Elizabeth was treated.
She is totally stunning and has a great heart like Harry, I hope they get together one day!
